24 points usually good enough

The Boys were 7-1 coming into tonight when letting up 24 or fewer points.

In 2012 they were 7-1 when the D let up 24 or fewer as well

In 2011 they were 8-3 in that situation.

Letting up 24 points a game on average would put the Cowboys 16th in the NFL. It's usually good enough to win with Tony Romo, which is a pretty special thing all things considered. But it wasn't good enough with Orton at the helm.

Good research. I was unaware of that.

I've said it before but if we could even field an average defense we probably win 10-11 games. None of our defense the past 3-4 years can even be considered average.

Different QB, same result. This is a team loss and mostly on the offense - but not simply Ortron. Played a solid game with only a few mistakes. Offensive scheme was the biggest detractor and kicking 3 FGs. Everyone will forget (conveniently) the Murray fumble on the first drive in which Dallas was dominating. And on the 2nd drive, the pathetic 3rd and 2 play call.

Yup, which is scary when you really think about it. But that's what bad drafting and poor cap management does to you.

Before the game they showed a stat that Orton was 20-2 or something when scoring 20+, no matter how low the hurdle this team will find a way to trip over it.

The stat they showed was based on what his defense allowed, not what his offense scored.
