..the Dallas Cowboys signed this man. And the rest is history. Thought I'd post cause I can't believe it's been that long. Crazy.

I remember watching one of his last college games (if not the last can't remember now) and taping it on VHS because I knew Dallas was going to take him. We had very bad reception on an antenna so it was really snowy, but I kept it for years. The tape is gone now. If I'm remembering correctly Landry was at the game and the showed him on TV.

Probably the cotton bowl, if I remember correctly.

First thing I though about when I saw him was how his timing, touch and accuracy seemed close to perfection. His protection with Dallas at first was somewhat spotty but it didn't take too very long before the o-line got much better with additional experience. It surely had to have been discouraging that first year but he hung in there like the champ he eventually became. Good memories . . .

I thought his last game was the Rose Bowl. I remember watching because I knew he would be a Cowboy and even told all my friends.

Heck, you might be right. Thought it was the cotton bowl though. I was pretty young and didn't pay a lot of attention to college.

I don't know why they kept the bum, he only won 14 games his first 3 years and and couldn't stay on the field because of constantly being hurt and threw 16 more int's than he did TD's. That wouldn't be acceptable for todays Cowboy fans unless you were a homer.

Um...yeah, OK. Except Aikman made the Pro-Bowl his third year and the team was on it's way to the playoffs before he got hurt. In 1991 Aikman was 7 and 5 as a starter and top 10 in several major statistical categories, to include passer rating, passing yards per game (#5), yards per pass attempt (#4), passes completed per game and completing percentage (65.3%, #2 in the NFL).

I know you can see it but twisting the facts to fit your argument is better but it just doesn't fly in Aikman's case. Find another example.

*insert snarky comment praising Aikman while also putting down our current QB*

Way to take my thunder.

Seriously though, I miss having a no-nonsense leader like Aikman on the team.
