Well, I'm 23, so what I've experienced as a Cowboys fan is pretty much Jets or Browns-like. If not worse..the constant tease & eventual disappointment is so heartbreaking. Garrett is NOT the answer either.

25 years ago tomorrow, I was swimming around in my Daddy's sack. Little did I know the pain and agony I'd be thrust into a few years later after being born into this bleeding blue fraternity

Tom Landry was a big reason I began a Cowboy fan. There was just an ora around him. It was sad watching the team his last couple of years. Was it time for him to go? Probably. But the way it happened was sick. I got a kick out of the people who were calling for his head and then after it happened had a complete 180 turn. lol No matter what we were lucky to have Jimmy when we did. I didn't like him at first but he converted me fast when we started to win. Winning cures all. It's too bad that Jerry doesn't consider coaching that important. At one time it was the most important thing in the Cowboys organization.

I was going to write something, but this sums it up.

There he was, high-pitched drawal and all, younger, heavier, jacked-up teeth, fresh off his unceremonious offing of the most iconic figure this franchise will ever know. Socks and jocks, win is the name of the game, flowing with excitement and arrogance and look-at-me-momma. If he sat any further forward on his chair, he would have fallen off the stage.

And Shazam, Jethro Bodine Jones arrived in Dallas. He sat back and watched his hired help bring home the hardware until his ego couldn't stand it any longer.

Then he tossed Jimbo into the cement pond, and declared hisself a double naught seven spy and took over the running of what was once - before twenty two years ago - a great and noble franchise.

This story always brings tears to my eyes, and kinda makes me want to kiss my cousin.

Nice write up, Erod.

And yes, I do find you amusing.

I was a kid in Jr High School when Jerry bought the team. I felt bad for Tom Landry but I liked Jerry's "We will win, Winning is the name of the game" Speech. I got really excited knowing Jimmy was gonna be the coach because I thought we would have some of that Miami Hurricanes Swag in Dallas.

Free Agency has just kicked Jerry's Butt over the years. He and Stephen have never found a winning formula during the free agency era.

I love this board. Where else can you go & read about Jerry's jacked up teeth?
