To me, this was probably the biggest play of the game. Who missed the block? Julius was thrown for a one yard loss. Before that play, my only concern was that Oakland was going to have too much time on the clock after we scored out touchdown. Was it a missed block? OR, did they just have the right defensive play called and we didn't have enough guys to block their guys?

It looked like it was an interior lineman. Spears led the way and picked up someone in the hole but one of the DL came free off his man and stuffed JJ.

According to the radio, Flozell missed the block.

In that case, I would give Flozell credit for the worst mistake of the game. To me, we lost the game on that play. I realize we had two more chances and Flozell does not get ALL the blame, but that was HUGE! Wow, the highest paid player on the team. He didn't even get near the guy, did he?

Kelly got low and blew right by Flozell, who was trying to block from his knees. LA blocked no one and ended up standing in the end zone.

A would be TD didn't happen because Flozell didn't hold his block.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Putting Spears in there that far out from the goalline was a foolish move.

Coach Parcells is talking about rookies, why put one in a blocking situation like that? I usually don't question what he does sometimes, but that is one that makes me scratch my head.

2 and 3 - how about a pass to Witten? Instead we go the predictable route.

We should have handed off to Larry...

It looked to my amateur eyes that both Adams and Allen stunk yesterday. Allen got pretty much abused by a washed up Warren Sapp. Of course, Allen is also an over-the-hill player who used to be great, but on most Sunday's, is average at best. For all the money, Jerry spends on the offensive line, he deserves better, but it looks like yet another year of subpar offensive line play. Probably time to get rid of Allen this offseason and Big Bill might want to re-think that statement that Adams can be one of the best players in the NFL.

Jimmy Johnson would have run Emmit 3 times in that situation.

Its not about being predictable, its about executing. Our two 'star' offensive linemen on the left side blocked nothing but air.

My point was about using what you have. All day we tried to pound the ball and failed. Why not use your pro-bowl TE on a short pass?

On the same comparison, even Jimmy might have tossed it the Novacek.

Back in the day, they would have most likely scored on the first run. At the most, 2 runs would have gotten Emmit in. Heck, that's when Larry Allen was truly a great OL.

I think the head coach has to take into account that the two star offensive linemen as well as the entire line was not executing the entire game. I know some are calling for Bledsoe to now air it out and I don't agree with that. They have to go to practice and future games and work on running the ball better. However, in that goal line situation you have to try something different. Heck, it doesn't even have to be that different. They run a play action pass system. I was hoping that they would use a play action pass in that situation.

.

We ran the ball behind two "Pro-Bowl" offensive lineman with our RB who is supposed to the be the key to the offense.

Again, if Flozell manages to block his man JJ walks into the end zone and we are not having this conversation.

You can blame the coaches all you want, but if nobody executes we aren't winning anything no matter what the play call.

The two previous plays JJ had gone up the middle for 6 and 8 yards. In fact the exact previous play JJ had gone for 8 off left tackle.

I agree, we SHOULD be able to pound the ball in behind Flo and LA. But for the entire game we COULD NOT move the ball on the ground. Why would it be any different in an obvious goal line situation.

I would have like play action or something different.
