Depends on who we selected at #4 and who else is available at #34. That said, he would certainly be a viable option there and I have heard that is the general sweet spot for DL. You could also look at CB, WR, RB, TE, etc.

Thanks wrong numbers must have read for another Player. But hes primarily a DT really not sure
we have a strong need there compared to DE

Agree that DE is a bigger need now, but if they select Bosa at #4 then DE should be taken care of.

In a round about way and I can't answer the main reason why but Joey Bosa doesn't excite me at #4.

I agree with this. With the signing of Thornton, I'm guessing that we probably go in a different direction unless a talent slides dramatically at DT and it's too good to pass on. JMO

I think on Bosa it's because I was watching NFL Network and they were saying he would be a solid Player
and good against the run but would never really be a sack artist might get you 7 or 8 a year. I want a guy
that can get 13 to 15 Sacks !!! Stay in the QB's face kind of like Haley ;)

I don't think it would necessarily be a sexy pick like a Wentz/Goff, Elliott or Ramsey but I think it would be a solid pick based on all I have read.

What if Thornton goes down? Just pick BPA and Butler is a good DT.

Marinelli is going to want pass rushing edge and 3 techs with high picks.

Not so so sure about that. Thornton is a good run defender but he is likely to come of the field in Nickel and Dime which we run a majority of the time. Interior pass rush is crucial to this defense so they may value a 3 Tech higher then most fans think

I would love it if they did but this is a deep draft at DT. I think they would wait till later in the draft to pick a DT and even if they do take a DT, I suspect that a 3Tech with rush ability would have to come from a vet. I don't see a rookie filling that need. JMO.

Vernon Butler got glowing review from Sturm, but DantheMan has him at #9 of DTs and a bad fit for the 4-3, playing too high.
I'll defer to the our resident and say no to Butler until the 3rd round. :)

I think the most NFL ready players in the draft are Rankins, Treadwell and Joseph. I'd love to find a way to get two of them. Maybe with a trade down in the 1st if a QB isn't there.
