2nd round pick since Jimmy Johnson left are busts

So Sean Lee and Demarcus Lawrence are good.
*Connor Williams with an honorable mention as decent.
The rest are scrubs to jags at best.
So 3 out of 31.
Not too shabby.
Bahahahaha.
BEYOND PATHETIC.

Funny how this list kinda highlights what I've been saying on how poor the drafting of defensive players has been in like, forever. Or at least 31 years that is.
New eyes needed to draft better defensive players STAT!
LOL:)

COWBOYS
Only 25-33% of 2nd round picks become long term multi year contributors in the league. And that's not even necessarily with teams that drafted them. Only 4.86% become elite or all pro.
Looking at that list around 11 would meet the definition of contributer putting Jerry ahead of the league at 34%!

AVERAGE OF THE LEAGUE
so is that your standard? We are Average and therefore that is enough?

I keep forgetting Pittman was not a first.

Jerry’s attempts at replacing Haley…

Shante Carver
Kavika Pittman
Ebenezer Ebuban
Greg Ellis
Greg Ellis was a game changer before breaking his leg. If he keeps up the same production he had in year 2 before breaking his leg, first ballot Hall of Famer. As for the rest of the list, I think we traded back in the draft and missed out on Tony brackens and settled for "Kavika."

Jerry actually made attempts before this list and tried trading up to draft Willie McGinnist. We settled for Shante Carver, who the Packers had a sixth round grade on. Supposedly he had a major alcohol problem.

Lol,
Again only 25-33% of 2nd round picks become starters or multi year contributors.
No one said anything about an average!

Greg Ellis played in 13 games prior to breaking his leg.
He had totaled 7.5 sacks up to that point!

Lot of busts in that list.
There were also some quality players that went on to get a second contract either with the cowboys or other teams.

Some like Sean Lee was an issue of his injury history but otherwise when healthy he was a hell of a player.
A LOT of busts on that list. Sean Lee, Antonio Bryant and Gurode were good. The rest, wow, complete bust land

I’ll never forgive Anthony Fasano for dropping that TD pass in the 2007 playoff game against the Giants

And he had two touchdowns, both in the 98 and 97 yard range. Sacks aren't the only stat for a defensive end. He was all over the field.

ESPN is showing he had two forced fumbles, one interception, three passes batted. I remember two touchdowns and they were 98 and 97 yards.

Lol,
And his broken leg was irrelevant to future freak plays!

Cap situation lol. That's laughable really. They can extend porter right now without any issues. They have plenty of ability to sign almost any non quarterback.
Yes they have a ton of space that's why not getting surplus contract value from a rookie deal doesn't matter.

You're saying the same thing as me, go kick a wall dummy

Wasn't Greg Ellis drafted in the 1st round and Dallas 2nd rounder Flozell Adams? If so I would say Gurode, Lee, Adams, and D-Law were the good picks from the list.

Jimmy was fired in February of 94 as I recall. Although I may be mistaken
Assuming by “post Jimmy Johnson” means after he left the Cowboys following the 1993 season (with 1995 being the first draft after the Barry Switzer transition)

Resorting to name calling sounds like you got your feelings hurt.

The Cowboys drafted
Idi Amin
Military officer and former President of Uganda in 2000?

The draft in 94 was held after Jimmy left

There are several errors on this chart. Ekuban was a 1st round pick in 1999, not a second in 1997. Team had no 2nd round pick in 1998, Ellis was their 1st and Ryan Lilja was never a Cowboy. The second round pick in 1999 was Solomon Page and the 2nd round pick in 2000 was Dwayne Goodrich.
