best scenario- Irv Smith jr.
great pickup- Juan Thornhill
could use- Deebo Samuel

I like Hakeem butler a lot too but I just don’t see how this creature falls

Good, realistic list.

I just don't see what you guys see in Jaylon Ferguson and Gerald Willis.

I need my edge rushers to be extremely athletic. There's only so much technique, counters, and key reads you can coach a guy. At the end of the day, my edge rusher needs to be able to bend and turn the corner, beat the tackle, and get to the quarterback. Ferguson does not flash any athleticism at all. I think he beat up on lower caliber guys. I also think he disappears against the run. He gets greedy and gets upfield too often, creating gaps to exploit.

Willis is more athletic, but he's what I call a "frontrunner." When everything is going great, he's beating his guy off the ball, penetrating and causing problems. When stuff is going bad, he disappears. Too many plays I saw him just stand up and get blocked; didn't fight, just sat there and took it. And gap discipline? Forget it.

Even Zach Allen is a try hard guy. He's Charlie Hustle and fairly strong, but like Ferguson, I feel he's limited athletically. His pass rush is straight at you, hoping to outwork you or capitalize on your mistake, rather than beat anyone with athleticism or speed.

when I watched Miami...Willis was one that I noticed.
strong.
athletic.
nimble feet.
but he seems to be falling into that 3rd or 4th Rd area....at one point he seemed to have settled into Rd 2.

Ferguson is a guy I like who just looks like the kinda DE they go for.
I like his size and some think he could play inside on some plays.
He can get after the QB.
when this process started he was a late 1st or early 2nd Rd guy.....this was pre-combine....pre-pro day.
then he gets dissed by the combine and had a bad pro day....now he's...for some...a late 2 or early 3.
I go with the first eval....that was based on his game film.....not the latter...based off a bad work-out.
I dont think he'll get to us at 58....more than likely we get a S or maybe CB...which Im good with.
for me...we could do worse than a DT like Willis or a DE like Ferguson.

All three great choices .
I don't see Irv Smith lasting past the very top of round two though .
If he's there that's who I'm taking unless some top defensive talent slides
