2nd year players

The sophomore class is looking a little better than it was before the season started.

No stars (except maybe Aubrey) but quite a few contributors there.
Out of that bunch I’d say Overshwon has potential. It’s a very underwhelming list of names but they all played well this past Sunday…I guess at least we have a future starters or potential starters.

Wheat is someone worth watching . I hope he’s more than an emergency fill in . This position needs help .
Kid had 17 1/2 sacks in the SEC (nothing to sneeze at) in 3 seasons and ran a 4.65 at the combine. His biggest knock in scouting reports was poor instincts in run support. Still a bit surprising no one took a 6th/7th round on him in the draft!

Might be fishy to say...but Bass could develop. Don't sleep on him...

In the reality of new competition in the linebacker group...the free agent Kendricks, a 2024 draftee and the returning Overshown...Clark now suddenly finds himself as a pure special teams player. Zero LB snaps the past two weeks.

At least for now.

Yeah, if anyone from that list hits it big, it’d likely be Overshown. He’s such a terrific athlete and he seems to really have the right makeup for the game.

I really like the guy.
You'll like him until he's holding out of camp to get the bag

Wheat was just a name to me - definitely off of my radar until this game.

I have high hopes for Overshown. Bass, Hunter and Wheat could be decent players.

I don't think Clark has a future. He is aggressive but to me he plays like a guy who is just guessing at what he sees and he usually makes the wrong choice.

Looked it up last year. Figured there had to be a
“developmental possibility” reason they kept him on the active roster all last season!

I believe Damone Clark is a 3rd year player.

Speaking of 3rd year players:

Tyler Smith
Jalen Tolbert
Brock Hoffman
Jake Ferguson
Kavontae Turpin
Marquese Bell
Damone Clark

Three of these guys are already Pro Bowlers. If not for the injuries to Sam Williams and DaRon Bland, this group would include another D-line rotation piece as well as a 1st team All Pro.

Tolbert, Smith, Ferguson, and Turpin all made critical contributions against the Steelers.
