A week from now, we could very well have a 3-0 team that has played opponents that are a combined 0-9.

There's a big ole bear trap that this team must avoid. Last year, they turned around a 3-5 start to win the division. They have to be careful not to let the opposite happen this year. A level head is the best prescription.

In fact, now the Saints game is looking much easier with Brees out for a long time with a broken thumb. The Packers look iffy, as do the Vikings and Eagles. The Bears are bad, as is the whole AFC East except for the Patriots. This "tough" schedule is looking easier by the minute.

However, keep in mind that we're still basically in preseason because some teams simply don't look like they're ready. A lot of these teams barely lifted a football in August, so perhaps we'll see what teams are soon.

The Cowboys have a virtual bye week this week, and the hype will be over-the-top. The offense looks like Rams or Chiefs right now. Dak's breaking records and looks like a new QB. The defense has only given up 10 and 14 points during meaningful game time.

Winning looks so easy. And that's what it should look like against NFL garbage teams if your team is really good. But winning isn't easy in the NFL, and there are bumps ahead.

I know the fan base will never maintain perspective, but the team absolutely must.

I think J Garrett's best trait is staying even keil regardless of what's going on. This should help the team during these high times.

I agree that winning isn't easy in the NFL. Fact is in past seasons Dallas would shoot themselves in the foot and these games would have gone down to the wire. This team I think is very good and loaded with weapons and they are out there playing excellent team football. If they continue that then they will be able to hold their own regardless of who they play. I understand there are some hard teams Dallas will face and those games will require the Cowboys best effort if they expect to win. What I will not do is down play how well this team is playing, not when I have seen how they have played vs teams like NY and Washington in the recent past.

Garrett does do a good job keeping the team focused on the next game, one game at a time mentality.

Even with Brees, being out, never take a team for granted. Bridgewater is not great, but he is no slouch either.
Dolphins could be one of those trap games even at home. I say come out firing, put the game away early if they can.

Some of these teams may and probably will get better as they get things worked out. GB will be a tough game, and going to Chicago will look a lot different in December compared to now. Vikings, and Gb, at least are home games, so that helps.
For some reason I feel better about winning the game in NE than I do a few of these other games. And the Eagles, never know how this will work out. Based on the last few year, and what we seen this year, we should beat them, but it is a rival game and the NFCE may come down to those 2 games.

Rams, even though at home, well, this defense better clean it up by then.

The vets and leaders on the team are aware of who they've beaten and I don't see any "relax" in this coaching staff as Garrett learned his lesson the hard way about that.

Give the Saints a game with Bridgewater actually preparing to play and they will give the Cowboys a good game and the Packers are looming in the distance as a better test than I thought before the season. So far, their D has improved.
