I would be ok with this draft if we sign Melton or Hatcher. But if we dont sign one of those guys, we have to get an impact DT somewhere in the first few rounds.

I could live with this....Smith is my 2014 pet cat...but, this draft only works if Lee is moved to the Will and they get a DT somewhere

What's up with this board's love affair with mediocre SEC QB's? Seems like every other mock has us taking McCarron or Murray. Waste of a pick in my opinion.

As someone else said, we better have a significant free agent DT in this scenario. If we did and you replaced the QB with a WR/RB and it would be a pretty decent draft.

Agreed. Why take a mediocre qb? Just to have one? What's the point?

Also don't like taking Smith after taking Crichton when I think there will be a better OG WR or OT. Crichton and Smith are both weak side pass rushers no need for both when better players are available.

CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan

Mosley
I'm not a fan of taking a 4-3 LB this early. It's one of the easiest positions for find later in the draft or in free agency.

If you really want to spend a premium pick on a 4-3 LB, then trade up in the 2nd for Ryan Shazier.

Crichton
I think he gets picked earlier due to a lack of quality DEs. I do like the player.

Smith
He's short, but I like this player. I get the feeling that the Cowboys prefer taller DEs, but we'll see.

McCarron
The way I see it is there are 3 types of players in the 4th round.
1. Big School players that might be very talented but have below average measureables like height, etc. or a recent injury.
2. Small School players that have talent and measureables, but are raw due to lower level coaching and competition.
3. Players that are just not that talented.

McCarron has extensive experience in one of the top college football programs in the country. He has very good height and size. It really only leaves one reason that he would be in the 4th round, lack of talent.

Reynolds
IMO, the last thing the Cowboys need is another smallish developmental CB (5-10, 189). They have Webb 5-10 and Moore 5-9 already. They need to give themselves a chance to develop a bigger CB because there are more and more monster sized WRs and pass catching TEs in the league every year.

Bromley
Good pick here. Decent upside.

Archer
Speed is fun. He's worth a 7th just as a returner.

Kennard
I assume that you're drafting him to play DE. His best skill is pass rushing. He's either a DE or 3-4 OLB in the NFL, IMO.

9.6/10, great mock. Framerate stutters at times, tight controls.
