Through the first phase of FA and after the Osa trade, the math on defense has changed. Need to get both more fundamentally sound on defense and add athleticism throughout. Here's my offseason the rest of the way:

Extend: George Pickens
Restructure: Quinnen Williams
Sign:
Matt Milano, LB - Injury prone and has definitely lost a step, but versatile and could have some juice with a healthy offseason.
Germaine Pratt, LB - Sound player, good eyes, strong in the box. Probably a two-down player.
DJ Reader, DT - Still an efficient and powerful NT.
Spencer Burford, OG - Has played a lot of games and should give some cost-effective depth at OG.
Hakeem Adeniji, OT - OT Depth, seemed like a good fit last year.

Draft: Using the PFN Mock Simulator with the consensus board.

Trade: Pick 12 and Pick 180 to CAR for Pick 19 and Pick 51.

19. Jermod McCoy, CB (14) - I think he is the best corner in the class and would be a top-10 pick if not for the knee. Happy to take Terrell here but I don't think 3 cbs will go before 19.
20. Peter Woods, DT (23) - Massive gap at DTs who can get up the field. He should be an effective nickel rusher on day 1.
51. Malachi Lawrence, Edge (73) - Explosive athlete with some polish as a passrusher and terrific win rate. Might be late for him but I think there are a number of edges who could go earlier.
92. Dani Dennis-Sutton, Edge (99) - Ditto Lawrence. Didn't want to double up on Edge here but it's how the board fell. Gives you a ton of upside and depth though.
112. Bryce Lance, WR (118) - Great size and speed, compared to Christian Watson but I think he has a bit more polish. Ton of upside and I think a fairly high floor, probably insurance if Flournoy leaves after this year.
152. Keyshaun Elliott, LB (175) - Good in the box and a green dot player. Smart and phsyical but not a great athlete. Two-down player and should be good on ST.
177. VJ Payne, S (179) - Big, fast, should be able to line up everywhere. Not really a great tackler or particularly physical for his size. Should give some value on ST right away but is a project.
218. George Gumbs Jr., Edge (228) - Kind of a sleeper and project. Explosive and an effort player but doesn't have much polish or strong fundamentals.

*() is overall ranking in the mock.

I don't really like the edges at 20 and would have liked to get a TE, but this is just kind of how it fell. My favorite picks here are Lawrence, Lance, and Payne.

Initial 53:

QB - D Prescott, J Milton (2)
HB - J Williams, J Blue, M Davis, H Luepke (3)
TE - J Ferguson, B Spann-Ford, L Schoonmaker (3)
OT - T Guyton, T Steele, N Thomas, A Cornelius, H Adeniji (5)
IOL - C Beebe, T Smith, T Booker, T Bass, S Burford (5)
WR - C Lamb, G Pickens, R Flournoy, J Mingo, B Lance, K Turpin (6)

I would cut Turpin if, say, Holden, has a nice camp. I don't think he's an asset, at all, on the offensive side of the ball. All of his touches in the run game should go to Blue.

Edge - D Ezeiruaku, S Williams, R Gary, M Lawrence, D Dennis-Sutton (5)
DT - Q Williams, K Clark, P Woods, O Ogbonina, D Reader (5)
LB - D Overshown, M Milano, G Pratt, S James, K Elliott, M Liufau (6)
CB - J McCoy, S Revel, C Durant, D Bland, J Butler (5)
S - J Thompson, M Hooker, P Locke, A Clark, M Bell (5)

If nothing else, this defense should be pretty stout in the middle and have some upside on the edge. I don't think it'll be a great passrush unit because it's too young, but increased athleticism should make them better able to be diverse and creative in blitz packages.

K - B Aubrey
P - B Anger
LS - T Sieg
