**Lions trade up for OT: 12, 93, and 152 for 17, 50, and 213**- Taylor Decker was released and the Lions still don’t have much else at OT behind Sewell. O-line is extremely important to their success so they trade up for 1 of the few day one starting OT’s in this class.

17- Dillon Thieneman DB Oregon- Versatile DB that gets put into the Cooper DeJean role. Keeping Thieneman in the slot near the LOS will allow him to impact the run and pass.
20- Kayden McDonald DT Ohio St- Outside of the top 7 or 8 players I think McDonald’s ability to dominate the LOS makes him the next most impactful player in this draft. Not just a big guy that holds his ground, he disengages and gets after the ball to make plays.
50- Jacob Rodriguez LB Texas Tech- We need someone to step in and wear the green dot on D and Rodriguez is a ready made field general with great instincts.
112- Joshua Josephs Edge Tennessee- Long, quick twitch Edge. Has a ways to go to be a full time starter, but has the tools to be an impactful pass rush specialist.
**Trade 177, 180 & Schoonmaker to Bal for 115**(Bal lost Likely & Andrews is getting older, they take a shot to develop Schoon for cheap)
115- Drew Shelton OT Penn State- Athletic developmental OT with good size. Will need coaching and time in the weight room
213- Brett Norfleet TE Mizzu- Big in-line blocking TE with decent hands to be a safety outlet in the pass game.
218- Jamal Haynes RB Georgia Tech- Quick scatback that was converted from WR.

DL- Q, Clark, McDonald, Ogbinnia
Edge- Gary, Ezeiruaku, Epenesa, Josephs, Williams
LB- Rodriguez, Overshown, Rozenboom, James, Liafau (ST)
CB- Bland, Revel, Durant, Carson(or)Butler
NB- Thieneman, Steward
FS- Hooker, Locke
SS- Thompson, Bell, A Clark (ST)

QB- Dak, Howell, Milton
RB- Williams, Blue, Davis

WR- Lamb, Pickens, Flournoy, Turpin, Mingo

Think we need at least one more DT. Four seems a little light for a three front.

Love your first 3 picks and could really impact our defense though i doubt Rodriguez is there at 50

May have to take Hill but he may be gone too

Love it. Id be super stressed waiting until 50 for our LB though.

DJ Reader is a FA still.
I think we're more likely to draft a couple. We're already paying big money to Quinnen and Clark. Reader is coming off a two-year, $22 million deal.

I think we'll draft a DT in the first three rounds and at least one more in the last four.

People aren’t talking enough about McDonald. He seems like a natural fit for this defense.

218- Jamal Haynes RB Georgia Tech-
Man, I dunno what happened to him this past year. Had high hopes for him to finish strong his senior year.
I would still take him in the 7th/priorty UDFA as he can be a weapon from the backfield as a 3rd down back.
the offensive line did regress, but Hosley feasted.

I think like we generally see with all position groups that ILB will start coming off the board in 20’s and keep going until they are all swooped up. We don’t have another pick until the late third and it’s risky as hell to wait that long.

Great haul but I feel like we have to do more to get this pass rush fixed.

I don't mind these players individually, but I don't see how this team rushes the passer.

DT early is real scenario. There are a lot of mocks we are wiped out before 12. If these guys really are out on McCoy and a trade back isnt there I could see us pivot to DT. Id prefer that to taking a WR at least.
