1st Round- Tre White CB LSU- Another LSU CB ...it's ok, White is a talented CB with a high ceiling. His best attributes are his fluid athleticism, quick feet, and loose hips. He has the ability to mirror and blanket WR's in space. 5'11 32" arms with legit 4.4 speed. 3 1/2 years of starting experience in the SEC. Wore the number 18 jersey for LSU which has a tradition of being given to a team leader and high character guy. Just needs to add a few pounds and work on his tackling technique and he has a good chance to be a long time good starting CB in the league.

2nd Round- Derek Rivers DE Youngstown State- 6'4 250 with 4.6 speed and elite 3 cone time. Has the type of burst and flexibility of an elite pass rusher. Demolished small school competition with 36 sacks and 53 TFL in the past 3 years. He's not good in the run game now so not ready to be a 3 down player, but can be a pass rush specialist early on with a high ceiling in the future.

3rd Round- Jake Butt TE Michigan- Falls because of a deep TE class and an ACL tear. When healthy he is a good, not great, athlete with very good hands and a knack for getting open. Has the size and strength to dominate LB's and S's in coverage. Not a great blocker now but has the size, strength, and willingness to become a good blocker in the future.

4th Round- Rayshawn Jenkins S Miami- Big, strong, intimidating S with the swagger of a typical S from The U. Brings a presence to the field and can deliver punishing blows to WR's over the middle. Former high school WR with 4.51 speed and soft hands. Needs some positioning work but has the size, athleticism, and tackling ability to think he could be developed into a starting SS in time.

6th Round- Jonathan McLaughlin OT Va Tech- 4 year starter with experience at both RT and LT. Needs to add some weight and strength but has the length and foot quickness to develop as a swing tackle prospect..

7th Round- Khalfani Muhammad RB Cal- Takes over Dunbar's role as RB/WR but also can be a great kick returner. High school state champ sprinter with legit 4.37 speed. Suddenness and straight line speed is pretty crazy to see. Too small to ever get many touches on offense.

7th Round- Hardy Nickerson LB Illinois- Leader of a couple of good Cal defenses before transferring to Illinois to play under his dad. Not the biggest or fastest LB but seems to always be around the ball. Could be a good special teams player and backup

The braintrust has all but eliminated the lower level school prospects recently, at least in early rounds. JJ Wilcox in 2013 is the last such pick in the first 4 rounds. So Rivers in the 2nd is highly unlikely. I do like White and Jenkins at those spots. Butt no so much...

I seriously doubt the FO is short sighted enough to eliminate prospects because of where they went to school. I wouldn't look that far into it other than a coincidence that a small school prospect hasn't lined up with their board. If they were that worried about something like that I don't think they would have taken Byron in the 1st from the power house that is UCONN football

Perhaps saying "all but eliminate" was too strong. Obviously if a guy like Demarcus Ware is on the board whether he played at Michigan or Midwest Valley North State, you're going to select him. My point is they don't seem as likely to take those lower level prospects now. Perhaps this is McClay's influence, not sure. I've even read or heard this several times thru the Dallas media. (Please don't ask for a link :) )
But yeah I agree if there's a guy they fall in love with, they're going to take him regardless of program and competition.

Tre White. Hmmm. Haven't seen his name make the first round yet

Like the Jake Butt pick in the 3rd. He was projected a bottom first / top second round pick until the injury.

I hope we can snag someone like Awuzie/Jackson maybe Tankersley in the 2nd.

I don't think any of them have a shot to be at 60. The injuries to Jones and Moreau are going to push corners up in the draft. All 3 of those guys are suddenly top 5 or 6 CB's. At 60 we could easily be looking at the 1 of/both of the King's, Witherspoon, Lewis, Wilson, Sutton, or an injured Moreau/Jones as our options

Mostly wishful thinking on my part but you're right.
