we should have our best pressure/coverage team against the packers. i think the following formation could do the trick.
i'm getting my three best down lineman in pass rush mode only. in fact, i wouldn't concern myself with the run. the three lineman would be canty, tank, and ratliff.
my three linebackers would be ellis, burnett, and ware. i don't want ellis to cover all that much... just shade his side for those quick slant routes. i want him in pass rush mode. ware is obvious. burnett has good speed and can help on those short crossing routes. i would also like to see him do a delayed blitz similar to the scheme the jets employ, but his main focus should be in pass coverage
again, it's all about coverage and pressure. confuse favre as much as possible. the pressure must come from different sides and angles. corner blitz him. make him release before he is comfortable. he'll take some chances... we must capitalize on those mistakes.
in the backfield , i would like to see newman, reeves, henry, watkins , and hamlin. they present our best coverage team.
