3-4 Defense? No

Anyone notice that we are once a again a mostly 4-3 defense? We rush the same 4 players almost every time. Or we will drop Ware in to pass coverage and rush just 3. Not very smart. What happened to the confusion of the 3-4 defense, where the offense has to figure out whom is rushing the passer? A blitz here and there could do wonders. Our pass rush is not good.

oh and BTW before the TD that pathetic D had only given up less than 60 yards. oh and lets not forget the stop they made after the fumble by JJ, yea they suck.

Who said our defense is pathetic? I said pass rush is not good. That was the benefit of going to the 3-4 defense. Running a 3-4 defense without blitzing and having the same 4 rush. Hmm, looks like a 4-3 defense to me. The Lions have moved the ball on this defense, it's just the Lions make to many mistakes (penalties).

The 3-4 is different than the 4-3 in how the gaps are played. It is not just counting lineman

...was a problem today it was the o-line. Detroit was playing well against our guys.

We don't play a 4-3, but we do rush 4 alot and go 4-2 on nickle downs...
However, we don't have any innovation...

Ware is being wasted on D...I did see him rush standing up more today, but still no innovation to speak of...

Glover is not played well starting...Fergy should start and play most run downs with Glover rushing the passer...

It didn't matter vs the Lions, but Denver will beat us if we don't be more innovative rushing the passer...

caused a critical fumble and allowed 7 points. Yes that was the base 3-4 we played today. And oh yeah - we won.
