quick question for people on the board who know more football than i do...

many of the teams that have played the cheatriots tough recently have been 4-3 teams rather than 3-4. namely giants, philly, colts, ravens play a lot of 4-3 as well.

the pats play a lot of 3-4 so their offense probably practices against 3-4 a lot.

i know we are playing spears at NT today because Rat is out

however,

if he shows he can play the position of DT, might we see a predominantly 4-3 look from our defense in the SB if we play the pats in the SB.

fire away :D

Uhhhh.... no.

Mostly because we would be operating from a scheme that we haven't utilized much-- a regular 4-3.

Now if you said we would use a "Nickel" or the "Cowboy" defense with-- then you may have something.

Philly of course in a 4-3 team that went to a 3-4 for much of their game against the Pats, so that sorta shoots your theory to ****.

no problem, thanx
just looking for opinions on something that crossed my mind

We are 4 years vested into 3-4 and have two edge LB's with 10+ sacks. We are forcing a lot of turnovers. We are 14-2 today.

No way no how do you change to a 4-3 going into a Super Bowl week. Execute better.

I think the key to those teams wasn't that they had a different scheme, but that they were able to break down the OL. Matt Light doesn't look healthy still.

The hey to stopping the Patriots is pressure.

Our defense was doing just fine until the latter half of the 3rd, when yet again, the Patriots on a 3rd and long which would have forced them into field-goal, get a PI call on Mr. Push-Off Randy Moss in the end-zone sustainging their drive and giving them the ball right next to the goal-line.

The key to stopping the Patriots is getting out to a huge lead so the refs will be inconsequential...

Have you noticed the 4th quarter trend against the Patriots lately, when they are in close games?

So you believe the NFL is fixing games?

Funny in 2002 the NFL hated us yet in 2007 the NFL loves us at 14-2.

I disagree that NFL is fixing games. Its about players executing.;)
