3 Cowboys in Top 5 pass rush grades among all defenders in week 13

With Parsons back, Zimmer is getting his blitzing figured out. That's one of the things that is pretty much universally said about Zimmer by guys like Brady. If he gets you in long yardage, it's tough to figure out where the pressure is coming from. The effectiveness of Overshown and Kendricks show that.

Of course, we just faced a weak offensive team, so that also helps.

Yes but I bet they fared pretty well against the Washington are you trying to tell me washington's weak offensive team we made them look that way didn't we on the road, on bad grass, when Washington really wanted it and then they proceed to the next game and just lay it on the Titans..

so maybe just maybe we're finding something on defense we need Diggs back but we more so need tank back I mean they're just now finding a little bit of something like you said Zimmer is getting it figured out but more are coming.

We will definitely find out where this defense is against Cincinnati and we get another chance at home to try to right the ship for these home games..

You have a little bit of a sample size issue here which is typically the biggest issue with PFF scoring. Kendricks got a sack on 5 rushes so he is going to have a monster grade. Overshown got the INT on just 8 rushes so he is going to have a monster score too.

I've not been a huge Zimmer supporter this year, but he called a fantastic game and dialed up blitzes to let these guys run free. A lot of people are jumping on the Overshown bandwagon as a pass rusher, but he is still a design dependent blitzer. When asked to beat a blocker he losses almost every time. Scheme him up to run free or get 1V1 on a RB and he can wreck havoc.

Good lord, they played the Giants
POST OF THE DAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, then we play someone more challenging and everyone is shocked that we got no pressure at all lol

Cincy will be a good test. The Bengals are strong offensively. I hope we have Diggs back because it would be nice to have both our All-Pro corners out there, especially since our corners keep falling like flies.

I agree that Overshown is an effective blitzer as a linebacker. He can use his speed to exploit gaps. But if we lined him up as a DE or OLB in the 3-4, he would have trouble getting off blocks.

Zimmer's system is designed to keep the offense guessing where the extra pressure is going to come from. He might blitz a linebacker and drop a lineman into coverage. Or it might be a safety or nickel back coming off the edge. It's nice to see it working like it is supposed to with Parsons back to keep the OL's focus.

I have 0 expectations on this game or anyone moving forward but it would be nice to really evaluate where we're at or if this was just all for not... A nice effort at home would be really nice this is a game nobody's expecting us to win because they don't think we can keep up so it'd be nice to get one of those this year at home we got the one against Washington and Pittsburgh on the road those are playoff teams by the way so it'd be nice to get one of these at home I know everyone wants a tank but right now I don't care about that I wanna see a good effort...

This is important , LOL

The NFC East has covered much fraudulence in Dallas over several decades.

Several names come to mind, but you are all aware of who they are.

The Cowboys are beginning to scratch the surface of their potential on defense.

The injury devastation clearly delayed the defense's transition to Zimmer's philosophy. However, as the previous injured begin to trickle back in, we can see some exciting things.

Unfortunately, this is probably too late to salvage the season. We can only hope for better luck next season when it comes to injuries.
