3 Most Positive Changes in 2025

I don't think our struggles with penalties was 100% on bad coaching. Some penalties are simply Cowboy biased.
Officiating in general has become atrocious under ClownShow Rog’s tenure.

The product on the field has been negatively affected by those whose sole job is supposed to be to uphold the integrity of the game and the spirit of competition and sportsmanship.

Is it a coincidence that under his tenure, gambling has become so massive within the NFL?

I have never considered NFL games being possibly fixed except under his regime. Unfortunately, there have been numerous examples of piss poor officiating that have wrecked the outcomes of enough games to stoke the skepticism regarding the integrity of the sport.

So, I don’t view it as “Cowboy bias”. I think it’s a bigger problem in general that is compromising the sport and that has affected us on occasion

But you can’t just blame the refs. McCarthy never held players accountable and it seemed there were plenty of times the team was mentally unprepared and unfocused on the field. Loads of pre snap penalties dogged this team throughout his tenure as HC.

What does that even mean? The bottom line is they have made some good moves and it is exciting to me. I like it.
Everyone has to put it together and execute.
You could hand me a a Bach or van halen song....great on paper...well written with "good moves". I could even have some decent musicians....doesn't mean it will sound awesome.

How do we put the whole thing together and execute.

Makes perfect sense to me, oh well.

There are some positive personnel/roster changes as well, but the largest positive deltas between performance in 2024 vs what our potential ceiling in in 2025 are these 3 staff changes:

OL Coach Riley >> Solari: Riley has been one of the most innovative and respected coaches in college football. Solari was a downgrade from Harbin and while he has a solid NFL pedigree— he is old and you have to wonder if the game has simply passed him by.

OC Adams >> McCarthy (Schotty): MM called the shots, Schotty was a placeholder. Mike’s offense was predictable and he struggled to help the offense in terms of consistency in the running game and in the RZ. Adams is a OL wiz and is bringing some youth, energy, and innovation to an offense in desperate need of a jump start. Pair him with Riley, and the scheme should be solid. The X factor is Schotty calling plays— he has been a midling OC, but he is an unknown asset in terms of HC.

Eberflus/Whitecotton >> Zimmer: While Eberflus struggled as a HC, his performance as a DC is what got him promoted. His scheme has produced, and his specialty is at one of our weakest positions: LBer. Zimmer on the other hand had to be talked out of retirement and admitted he didn’t handle the transition from Quinn well. Add in Whitecotton who has earned respect for his work in NY along the DL, and another weak position group should see some improvement under his tutelage.

Bottom line: Our coaching staff is younger, hungrier, and more relevant to today’s game. The additions of these coaches is the thing I am most positive about the 2025 Cowboys.

Long way to go to catch Philly, but these coaches are great additions IMO.
We are better than Philly, point blank period

I agree I think some real effort has been made this off season.

I am much more excited this off season then I have been in quite some time even with all the negative speculation that's been going on here.

That said I am hoping that the anticipation is not greater than the realization.

Week 1 it's time for Cowboys to have one of those 'shock the world' kind of games.
Would love that. Grab a road W, beat a division opponent, defeat the reigning SB champ, prove the media wrong, and piss in Philly fans’ cheerios.

What could be a better start to the season? Lol

That game could set the tone for the whole season get things on a good roll with all the guys believing.

It's only the first game but what a confidence builder it would be.

Lol Shotty is a terrible OC. Just stop. We need to hope he is no where near the game plan or play calling.
