...with at least 36 inch arm-lengths this year so far.

Bruce Campbell -- 36 1/4
Anthony Davis -- 36
Russell Okung -- 36

It's a good year to be wanting an OT.

I'm just now starting to read up on the draft prospects and everything i've read says that this is a great year for OL and DL. The deepest at those positions in a very long time.

The great thing unlike most years recently, is that these guys aren't strictly zone-blocking OTs. These guys are maulers.

Michael Roos, Pro Bowl OT-32 1/2
Michael Oher-33 1/2
Jordan Gross-33 1/4
Chris Samuels-33 1/2
Joe Thomas- 33 3/4
Walter Jones- 34 1/2
Jammal Brown-34 3/4

The list goes on........

This is nothing against your post and I'm not saying arm length is not important but much like the 40, it's over analyzed. It takes a whole lot more then ropes for arms to make a OT.

What? Is 36 the magical number?

So, what percentage of All-Pro OTs have 36" or greater arm lengths?

I'm not trying to be smart. You have any concrete data?

I'm not making any assumptions. But having long arms is a great asset for an OT. The longer the arms, the better.

The only problem is that the Bruce Campbell hype machine is in full swing now and is going to likely pass us by.

I have been a fan of Bruce for awhile now but I just dont see how he is going to be there for our pick now.

long arms mean squat if you have a bad back, slow feet or are stupid.

I never figured he would be. I think he is top 15.

To be honest, I've been reading alot on the OTs in the draft, and I'm not really sold on any of them save Bulaga. Alot of the guys seem to have the same profile--talented but bad attitudes. But then again, Flozell had the same question marks when came out and obviously turned out okay....

According to Mike Mayock, less than 33 (he says more than 32, but I assume 32.5 is still considered 32) inch arms means you'll struggle. So a guy like Bulaga could fall depending on his other workouts because he was measired as 33.25 (somewhere between averege and above averege).

FWIW, Anthony Davis does not have 36 inch arms, his arms are 34 inches (big difference). The tackle spots, 2-4 are very close. Okung is the clear #1, but Davis, Bulaga and Campbell are pretty close. The workouts will determine the draft order imo (before I get blasted I'd still rank Campbell 4th, but me projecting him to OAK is looking better everyday).

one inch difference. I REFUSE to believe it means all that much.

2 inches (36-34) and there is a big difference. Not enough to drop him, but if he struggles in the workouts, teams will view him as a RT and he could be the 4th OT tackle (still won't slip past Pitt at 18)

I was talking about those claiming that anything under 33" means you cannot play tackle. That is what those morons mean. NOW longer arms are a good thing but a lot less important then attitude or quick feet or intelligence or a lot of other things.
