3 players that can put us over the top

Taco Charlton won't be here in two years, wasted pick.
I hope your wrong, but I’m not a big Taco fan either( well actually, I love big Tacos, just not the football players named Taco). To me he doesn’t have enough attitude. To laidback. To much of a nice guy. Doesn't have enough Charles Haley in him!!

If we can get significant production from the following players, I feel we can contend in the playoffs.

Taco Charlton - most of the attention will be on the other side to get Lawerence/Irving blocked which should free Taco up on the right side, If he can take the next step this year and contribute that could go along way for our pass rush.

Jaylon Smith - with one year of playing experience and health improving, it could really go along way for our LB core especially if he can show some dominance like he did in college.

Xavier Woods - he needs to lock down the FS safety position, something that has plagued this secondary for a long time, with Richards guidance our secondary can become really good.

obviously, there are other players on the team that could help significantly, but these 3 guys will get every opportunity to contribute and if they can't we could be in some trouble.

On the roster, the Cowboys have like 6 players making All Pro and even more having made the Pro Bowl. As you point out, some players who have talent in the same zip code areas.

Not all 'nice' guys finish last...Bob Lilly comes to mind.

No kidding. I don't mind giving him a shot but we better come out of the draft with someone lie Bates or Reid to come in and compete for the job because I'm not comfortable at all going into training camp with him and Frazier as the two options beside Heath.

Maybe they really are thinking about Earl Thomas. Normally they would have protected themselves with a veteran, not trusting one of Frazier and Woods to come through.

Even if they draft someone, it would have to be high to feel that we're actually covered for the 2nd S, unless they took in in the first couple of rounds. That seems unlikely.

Clear Eyed View my arse....Dal wasted a pic to rehab and prepare this cat for the NFL .If he has a breakout season, another team will benefit from all the efforts to have the complete player while we suffered through 4 years of NO SIGNIFICANT play time.

it will be his 3rd year this season....have you really gave up on the player?

he gave the defense instant "attitude" when they gave him extra snaps at SS over Byron.....it gave the D a pickup, Rod M had to see that.

Saw a Tweet where Richard was saying Frazier could be just as physical and dominant as Cam Chancellor. High praise

This Front Office has really done a number on this fan base.

We don't need to use the off-season to improve, players will just magically step up.

Rainbows and unicorns.

Roger that, I don't see an improved team entering the season.

Taco Charlton's first year : Combined tackles : 19. sacks : 3. 1 Pass deflection and a forced fumble.

Everson Griffen's SECOND year : Combined tackles 21. Sacks 4. 2 pass deflections and a forced fumble.

So you would have been saying that about Griffen too, in his second year.

Yeah, rookies never get better after their first year. You're right.

They will all get their chance. Give me Zeke for 16 games and we'll contend for a playoff spot with some health for Lee. Once you get there anything is possible
