He had a great break out year and finally stayed healthy for the first time, but lets not over pay for the guy. I want him back but at the right price.

Three guys that can do just as much are.
1. Mario Manningham
2. Pierre Garcon
3. Robert Meachem

I wouldn't pay Robinson more than what these guys will get paid.

True statement. I would pay him equal, just for the fact that it's obvious Romo trusts him and they work well together.

heck i'll give you four reasons...

1. his 2007 season
2. his 2008 season
3. his 2009 season
4. his 2010 season

I don't Dallas will over pay but I do think they need to get him resigned. I think the chemistry between Romo and Robinson was big and the fact that Robinson could come in and play the 1 or 2 spot depending on if Austin was out or Bryant was out of the lineup provides Romo with a legit weapon.

Completely agree with this. He wants to remain a Cowboy and will take somewhat of a paycut. He was one of the most valuable Cowboys in 2011 and earned his spot on this team. I don't care about what he did in the past.

i will give you 4 more reasons:

1) Nicks
2) Brandon Carr
3) Red Bryant
4) Michael Griffin

In this day and age you better have 3 top WR, I don't see Robinson as a luxury I see him as a big part of a WR core. Given some name I have seen at WR who will be FA I don't think Robinson will get top offers as some of them will but I do want to see Dallas give him a fair contract

Garcon is really interesting. His price has probably been driven way down considering the debacle last year in Indy. Might be had on the cheap, and he can do everything that Robinson did.

I just worry that someones going to pay Robinson like a 1, and it's not going to be Dallas. Need to start thinking of alternatives.

I'd take Garcon over Robinson in a heartbeat. He's gotten better ever year in the league and had a very good 2011 season - 70 receptions, 947 yards, 6 TDs with the likes of Painter and Olavasky throwing to him.

i highly doubt it. everybody knows the circumstances he was playing under last season. even if the price drops a little it's still significantly more than robinson will be paid.

robinson had a better season in less games?

Idk, generally speaking I would think that guys who score 11 touchdowns get paid more than guys who score 6.

And I didn't watch the Colts, but I would assume that Garcon's numbers are at least somewhat inflated because they were always playing catch up.

He did - there is no doubting that.

The issue is that Robinson has had only 1 good season out of his 5 year career -- for various reasons the other 4 he has does nothing. The reasons he did nothing can range from the other teams didn't understand his value to he was inured, to his attitude, to whatever ( don't know) but with Robinson you will have to take a chance on spending fairly decent money a guy who's record of achievement in this league has been very spotty.

Personally I don't think you can under value the chemistry that Romo and Robinson showed on the field with no camp together. They seem to click I would hate to lose that.

Depending on the cost I'd like Garcon or Meacham over Robinson.

Both are more true "speed receivers" which is something we currently lack. They also give us more quickness than our current group of brutes.

The bottom line is Romo will make sure Robinson is here. He has a lot more say in players on the team than some may think.

Some times things don't work out. In Dallas things have

Three of the 4 made Pro Bowls. So are you giving reasons why we should overpay or why we shouldn't? The NFL isn't a perfect little world where a guy retires while in his prime and right at the end of his contract. You give a guy a big contracts it not realistic to expect he will play at a high level all 4 or 5 years.
