If everything goes right, this team might sneak into the playoffs as the 7 seed.

If everything goes wrong, we’re getting a top 10 draft pick.

I’d say we are closer to a top 10 draft pick than we are to getting into the playoffs.

First, Blogging The Boys conducted a recent poll. According to them, the poll stated 52% of fans were encouraged by Brian Schottenheimer's performance thus far. Now, BTB writes an article basically stating Schottenheimer will not be enough to coach the team to the NFC East title. Classic <expletive> if you do <expletive> if you don't commentary, lol.

Not seeing the conflict, honestly. One is on fan sentiment and the other is what they think will happen. Fans can be optimistic all they want. It still won't magically turn a crap sandwich into filet mignon. Extreme examples but you get it.

I did not phrase it as a conflict but as a contrast between what fans (e.g. the poll) and BTB thought of Schottenheimer.

I don’t see any scenario we are worse than last year except injuries. For me it’s easier to see us being a playoff team than worse team

They won the NFC East two of the last four years with Jerry and Dak. The Cowboys have won the NFC East four times with Dak, which is the most since Troy Aikman. Winning regular season games hasn’t been a problem for Dak.
