3-round, 32-team, pre-combine Mock

[Fredd]

OK, Here is my criteria:

* this a needs based draft (not necessarily BPA, and no trades)
* I used 7 mocks and used a points system to determine the order of the picks
* I tried to match the top player remaining based on the need of the team (in other words, if a WR was the next person on the list, but the team didn't need a WR, I went to the next guy, etc.)
* I tried, for the most part, to not double up on a position unless the team needed both DL positions or more than one OL

As bad as this team could use the first three rounds on the DL, I just dont see it happening, and I also hate the "scheme specific" concept so I like Nix more than others. It is possible they go defense the first three picks but I doubt it is all on the DL.

very good point; when it came time to pick third for Dallas, there wasn't of their needs coming up I let the program pick another DL

That's not going to happen IMO. He would have to run like he just got up from his dirt nap, three days past, at the combine for him to drop into the 2nd round. But hey, if it did, I would doing everything I could to try and move up to get him.

I just went with needs, not necessarily what I thought teams would actually do...once the combine is over and more mocks come out, I will adjust my stats and come up with a better assessment

Me too. I posted this very idea a while back: acquire the best possible talent and adjust your playbook accordingly. I detest the idea of choosing less talented players because they "fit what we do." IMHO, "what we do" should be determined by what our players do best. I actually love the idea of an immovable, pocket pushing presence up front in the middle of the Cowboy defense.

Me too. I've named him in a couple of my dream draft scenarios. I truly do NOT like the idea of Donald. He's just too light to play DT at the NFL level in today's game. My first two picks are DT and DT and then if available in the 3rd rnd - DT, DE if one isn't. (Nix, Hagemenn, and whoever else is biggest and fastest.)
