Let's say Witten retires after this season and we're unable to find a replacement, is this type offense an option? Giants and Eagles run it with quite a bit success. Wouldn't it put more pressure on the D with Zeke and adding a 1st or 2nd round WR as a starter along with Dez and TWill. Interestingly the Eagles are 2nd overall in rushing.

Dez could take over Witten's routes......he would be a huge athletic upgrade and might actually break a few tackles from DBs and run away from some LBs

When you have a slot guy, you effectively have three WRs. And you're not fooling anybody by putting more receivers on the field. They already know you aren't going to pass every down. So, unlike Madden, your guys are going to get tired.

Better to use that extra body for blocking.

Wow. Let's really screw ourselves by going lite as a base.

3 WR all the time is great, if you have no run game. It is stupid if you have a great RB

Uh why??

It puts an extra DB on the field for the defense and spreads the defense out. I will take Zeke or any RB all day against another defensive back rather than another linebacker.

Teams do this all the time. They run from
the spread formation because it puts less people in the box. This is a great idea and allows the QB to adjust easily.

Actually, this my thinking also.......you've added an extra starting WR meaning more speed, plus force the D to spread out a bit more. I would think with our OL, Zeke would have a field day with this.

Huh? Eagles and giants have Zach Ertz and Evan Engram...you can say what you want about Engram being a TE/WR, but both of those teams pretty much always have a TE on the field. So not really sure what the point of this thread is...

This isn't 1989 anymore. You can actually put 3 receivers on the field at a time and continue to run it. Just get a fast TE and look out.

Like the Giants and Skins ( injury prone).........

SWR is your slot guy. So that may be your starting lineup but that doesn't mean you aren't changing personnel and formations throughout the game. No different than the formation we have with Beasley. Or NE has with Amendola.

I don't think he meant all game with 3 receivers. I wouldn't mind spreading out the defense but we invested in our run game. Line up and run.

No way
A great TE is absolutely essential
The eagles have 2 very very good TEs
Dak also throws much better short and inside which are TE routes
No way do I go without a really really good TE
