The Texas Rangers beat the Orioles by a score of 30-3???!!!

AND....the Orioles lead the game, 3-0 after three innings.

30-3 is a BEATING in football...

Our D-Line did an excellent job today. And man, you should have seen our running game.

Wait a minute . . .

I didn't a double take when I saw the score and then for a second thought it was an exhibition football score.

I was out tonight. Is that score real? That has to be a scoring record for one team. If it isn't that's just scary.

It's real. They broke the record for most run scored in the Modern Era (1900).

I was listening to the game when it was 12-3 and then turned it off. I turned the radio back on a few hours later and they're talking about the last time a team had scored 30 in a game.

I shrugged it off at the time - no way they're talking about the Rangers.

Yeah. 110 years. Last time a team scored over 30 runs the Chicago Cubs were known as the Chicago Colts and it was 1897.

Two days ago local headlines were touting how the Rangers lineup had managed 30 strikeouts in back-to-back games (one of those against Johann Santana).

Now, 30 runs in one game? What is this, Bizarro World?

Just for yuks, the Houston Texans didn't score 30 in ANY game last season.

Let's just say I'm glad I didn't get up early to watch that game on MASN... I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it near as much as I did watching Bedard do his thing against the Rangers the night before...

If my O's weren't a bad team, Bedard would be a frontrunner in the Cy Young race this year... he still deserves to finish in the top 3, at this point...

The only thing I found semi-amusing about the game tonight is the Birds just extended Tremblay's contract, he's gonna be the manager next year too... I found myself wondering if that game was the team's way of telling us all how they felt about that signing... :D

First time since like 1895 that a team's scored that many runs in a game... by the time the second game kicked off, the Rangers had already set a record for the most runs scored in a doubleheader... :bang2:

Ah well, just one of those days... it didn't help that the O's blew the lead in the second game, too... I actually found that more annoying...

amazing and what is even funnier is yesterday on the ticket they were busting the chops of the hitting coach for the rangers

The box score is a trip.

Rangers scored 30 in only 4 innings. Something like 25 of the 29 hits were singles. Only 6 times have 10 runs been scored in one inning. And there were like 86 plate appearances.

As the late, great Johnny C. would say, "weird, wild stuff".

I heard on ESPN radio that the weirdest stat of the game is that a Ranger pitcher actually gets credited with a save since he pitched the last 3 innings of the game.
