Knew this thread was coming............

TO is gone. The real mistake was not getting a veteran WR with some speed and thinking that we were set at that position with what we have.

Or drafting one.

Then HOW does he score more then ANY other Cowboys receiver in a 3 year span in FRANCHISE hostory??????
First of all let's ignore the fact that this era is a far more passing friendly era shall we? I mean we have to in order to swallow this nonsense. All eras are equal and WRs could never be mugged in the 60's and 70's when Bob Hayes was putting up huge TD numbers in fewer games. Ignore all of that. It makes too much sense to be taken into account.

Now let's also ignore the Offensive focus during the Emmitt Smith heyday years and how our Offense was designed to punch the ball in on running attacks. Yeah, it would be a good idea to ignore that and the fact that TO couldn't carry Michael Irvin's jock as a WR.

Damn, when you ignore all the facts you are right, he's the greatest WR in our History.

Because he's targeted and forced the ball to an ungodly amount of times? But beyond him not being able to get quick separation, he can get it once he starts to run down the field. The problem is those are not a characteritistics of elite options at wideout. He's just a deep threat at this point and nothing else. THE Terrell Owens that was a dominant wideout left the NFL never to return that night he hurt his ankle in Carolina back in 2007. He hasn't had short area quickness SINCE. I can't imagine he'll do much better than 1,000 yards this year, which will work out to about 60 yards game. He may not get that much looking at these first two games. With mediocre production to go with his attitude, he'll be out of the league soon enough.

not owned...Jason witten stayed open down the middle of the field. When TO wasnt getting open, it was b/c he was double and triple covered. Regardless of how much you hate the guy, teams still gameplan to stop him. Now Witten gets more attention.

Look at the whole picture.

old slowing down TO is still better than any receiver we have.

We will see threads like this until the Cowboys go on a good winning streak.

Terrell Owens was a major problem.

Unfortunately, Wade Phillips is still here and he was just as big of a problem.

Jery cuts this guy and now we have a bunch of WR's who can not get open against a secon d string DB.... We are in for a long year...

Good answer get rid of the most productive receiver in a 3 year span in Cowboys history.. At least we have a Romo Interception Friendly Offense.
Romo had more TDs than TO did in those 3 years. He probably had more TDs in a three year span than any QB in Cowboys history as well. But that doesn't stop people from wanting his head on a platter.

Receiver's were open last night all over....Romo didn't make the right reads and didn't throw with great accuracy.

I never said TO couldn't. Pay attention. Even a blind chicken gets a piece of corn now and then.
