Twitter: 3rd and 10+ conversion rate

The stat is about performance by the QB, not performance by the team.... you know what nevermind you wouldn't understand lmao.

It is you that don't understand if you can say conversions on 3rd & 10+ is a 'QB only' stat. I don't see how anyone that claims to understand football can say this. Is it really your position that, once a team reaches 3rd and 10 or more, that the o-line, WRs, and TEs become completely unimportant? They don't matter? You can just throw whatever surrounding cast you wish around that QB and his conversion rate will stay the same?

I want to be clear...so, are people saying he should be paid right around what Cousins is making?

Just to be clear... there really hasnt been a post over the three pages that even mentions contracts. So.... no that's not what people are saying

Lmao so your claim is that every single stat out there is a team stat then? That's really your position?

You can't claim to understand football, and then say that W-L record and 3rd 10+ are remotely similiar in being associated with the team vs one individual player.

Okay.

Are they suggesting Cousins is good? Because that seems to be an extreme change in thinking for Dak's biggest supporters.

Cousins was very good last year. This one stat alone doesn't make him good, same for Dak, but collectively with what we know, both were top QBs last year.

I didn’t say that. But to claim that it is strictly a QB stat, and the other parts to the equation make no difference, is ridiculous.

Football is, more than any other sport, a team game after all. And while this stat does reflect on the QB, the other parts do, in fact, matter.

You still didn’t answer the simple question. Is it your take that if you vary the supporting cast around the quarterback, the conversion rate will stay the same?

You didn't say that verbatim, but you essentially did say it. Since every play has 22 players on the field. So that is your position?

They would vary based on supporting cast, but the stat is primarily derived from QB performance, whereas team W-L isn't.

Heh, surprised at Josh Allen.

Watson being in the "worst" quadrant is interesting as well.

Let’s try this one more time.

Would Dak’s (or any QB’s) 3rd and 10+ conversion rate stay the same regardless of the supporting cast?

A simple yes or no...

Dak had amazing pass protection, top five in time to throw. Dallas was ranked top three in both rush and pass protection. And with all the man outside Dak sees because of the running game, no big deal.

But third and ten plus doesn’t really tell much, because of prevent defenses. Third and ten come often in those type of situations. Defenses just keep everything inside to run out the clock. How much of those conversions were that?

This stat is like Dallas having the most drops by WRs or guys like Zeke. If you look at Zeke’s drops, They were basically dump offs, behind the first down marker, surrounded by defenders. At the same time, Dak was supposedly second behind Winston in INTs DROPPED BY DBs at 17.

Why the hell did you have to ask it again? it was already answered "They would vary based on supporting cast, but the stat is primarily derived from QB performance, whereas team W-L isn't." Can you not read..?

Let's try this one more time, so every stat is a team stat according to you?

A simple yes or no will suffice.

But...but...but...

Is Dak a leader?

Does Dak have an accuracy problem?

Is there a better fit (team) for Dak?

Why was Dak named the best player in the NFC East over the past 5 years when he has only played 4 years?

But what about the eye test?

:facepalm::huh::facepalm:
The trollers have an easy argument:

"It's Dak fault they were in 3rd and 10+ to begin with".

Right, but they'll never actually back it up with facts. That's always how it goes. They just make claims with no backing and hope it sticks.

Dak was awful in the red-zone. What exactly does third and ten conversion rate mean, especially when your playing against prevent defense and the opponent is only worried about keeping you inside to burn the clock?

You making up that teams strictly played prevent defense against Dallas on 3rd and long is one of the funniest things I've seen posted in awhile lmao.

Keeping us inside to burn the clock...during the 1st quarter....? Your little fantasy world doesn't seem to have much reality to it at all.

If you want to be taken seriously, show us factual data on both.
