Those back-to-back-to-back penalties in hte AZ game eerily reminded of the 1986 Dallas/Giants game in the Meadowlands when Phil Pozderac was called for illegal shift, false start, and holding calls on our last drive late in the 4th quarter, knocking Dallas out of field goal range in what was a devastating 17-14 loss.

Each time Pelleur, filling in for Danny White whose wrist Carl Banks had just broken, would complete an unlikely pass for a first down, the 6'9" uncoordinated mass that was Pozderac would create yet another penalty. It was mind-numbing-- especially since we kept making plays to stay alive!

I listened to that game on radio. I seem to recall that at the end Dallas would keep making plays, but there would be a flag every time. Including one that Landry argued was a ticky-tack motion call on Pozderec. It was amazing, Pelluer would complete a pass and then there would be a flag. That was the game when White broke his hand or whatever it was and Dallas only won a single game the rest of the year. Dallas was 6-2 at the time and had beaten the Giants in Dallas. The Giants went on to win the Super Bowl. Dallas was so close to a sweep and had they won that game, they would have been 7-2 and in first place in the NFC East.

Haha. 3rd and 50 is typical Dallas Cowboys football, along with Saturday's exciting finish. :)

I was just about to post this......

This was essentially Danny White's last game.....

Never forget the frustration

This is the game where Rafael Septien was just short on a 63 yard FG attempt. He was a great kicker......I think this was his last season as well.

The creep.........that summer, he was accused of child molestation.

The more you think about it, the more you realize that ridiculous mistakes and drive-killing penalties have become a hallmark of Cowboys football in the last 8 years. I don't think there is anything more frustrating in all of football than watching your team constantly shoot itself in the foot for almost a decade.

I blame it on Jerry. I mean, so many quarterbacks, so many coaches, so many years. The one constant has been Jerry. I pray for a new owner to come and sweep away the ugly eight years and the entire organization as it exists now, rebuild it into a contender that can put together at least a decent squad of talented, disciplined full-wits, and make us win again.
