I have been pretty harsh on Opie. But this takes the cake for me.

So you cannot:

A. ask a ref if you made the first down

B. look at the down marker

C. locate it on the scoreboard

Instead you let your team run a QB sneak to get a first down you already had.

At the very least you could have tossed the challenge flag and suggested you got the 1st on the last play, forcing them to pick it up and inform you of the 1st down.

Game management is critical.

That was THE WORST in game decision I have ever seen with this team.

EVER.

I couldn't even believe what happened.

Joe Buck was like ???

I honestly do put this on the Bruce Coslet level of not having a play for 4th and 1.

I don't think I have ever seen a HC not know what down it was. Especially with a 3000 ft wide video screen in his face.

Is anyone really surprised anymore that Garrett had no clue we got a 1st down?

Yeah. I thought this was hilarious. It was a microcosm of Jason Garrett's in-game management.
Hilarious? This buffoon is the head coach and likely will continue to be...

Honestly, yes. That was just on a whole 'nother level.

Just completely mind-blowing if you sit and think about how bad that truly was.

I can honestly say I have NEVER seen that in any NFL game in my life.

He needs to go.

I must have missed this one...fortunately. I was probably trying to NOT watch the game from the dinner table when this happened..

Dont they have big giant poles on the sidelines that tell you what down it is?

You get irritated every single week with this guy. Sometimes, you just have to laugh at how bad his management is.

I didn't notice, but were the poles even set ( & flipped to 1st ) before Romo did the QB sneak? Refs were screwing up on the spot of the ball yesterday.

That was on the officials.

They did a horrendous job with that.

The chain gang never moved and the side judge never waived them forward.

No one knew and the clock was running.

I have been hoping I was wrong about this guy. That the light would suddenly come on and he would be this magical coach some profess here.

Even when he has called the 4th and 1 and stacked the line as if he were Switzer and this was the Eagles, I still held out hope the guy would get it.

But this is his sixth year with the team. All his visiting great coaches and learning from them seems to go out the window when the pressure is on.

Then comes:

1st down-gate

And there are no excuses left.

I was at home and I almost put a paper bag over my head when I saw that. What an embarrassment.

The Head Coach has responsibilities.

Asking the question takes less than 10 seconds for question and answer.

Or, at the very least demand a measurement.

This is about being alert. No amount of excuses will save Opie here. This is thinking on your feet type stuff.

It's basically the most important time in the game.

But like always in these situations, Garrett is literally STUCK in the headlights. He freezes. He can't think on his feet.

Like Ryan forcing him to throw a challenge flag.

When things pop up, Garrett thinks and thinks and thinks when he should just KNOW what to do.

Yeah, I was like... ... ...:banghead: ...:lmao2:

I think the worst part for me is that I've been wanting a QB sneak on some of our short yardage situations, and we never run them until NOW, on a first down.

Tards...

V, they did wait until they found a running lane to do it.
