Great post Percy and I found this interesting. Relatively the same average distance on 3rd down passes for 2013 and 2014 but Romo's converting at 54% so far this year. Interesting because the running game can't be that much of a threat on 3rd and long.

If you look at our conversion percentage on 3rd and long, it's basically identical to our percentage on 3rd and medium.

4-7 yards to go: 45.8% (17th)
8+ yards to go: 44.8% (1st)

Love your posts first off. Second,this is do to the ol more time to let things develop. Last year as soon as the back foot hit rushers were at the front foot.

I agree it starts with better protection. We could not handle pressure up the middle on 3rd down last year. Now Romo has time to go through all his progressions, sometimes twice.

Another key improvement is play design. We're getting guys open this year who were nothing more than afterthoughts and checkdowns last year.
