It'll be interesting what our 3rd down package looks like this year.

I could envision a situation where Gregory will play linebacker in an almost 5 down situation.

Gregory - Hardy - Mincey - Crawford - Lawrence

I think most of us believe Hardy will not face a full 10 game suspension, and that it will get cut to 4-6 games. That will give Gregory time to play a lot more than he probably would have, but by playoff time if we stay healthy, these rushmen should be pretty fierce.

Well we got the highest ranked defensive end in free agency this year, and one of the highest ranked rushers. I don't want to get ahead of myself, because I said the same thing about claiborne and carr, but I think we were much smarter and more fortunate here.

We're well positioned to invest a lot into the secondary next year, hell this year isn't over either.

Though I would also say this draft pick ideally places us in a position to trade for AP.

We could use Gregory a lot like the Broncos used to use Von Miller.

That would be the opposite of your OP. Miller moved to DE on obvious passing situations with a 3rd CB on the field and two LBs.

The lineup in your OP with Gregory as a LB would be on base downs if it happened. Von Miller played SLB on base downs in Denver.

It wasn't in relation to my OP, I was just saying we could using him in similar situations to Von Miller. Where he might play linebacker on regular downs rather than playing on the line.

I also think he could play on 3rd down, where the ultimately put him on 3rd down is besides the point.

There is almost no chance he makes the team next year. I was high on him too, but it was a stretch from the get go. We've now made serious investments into the line, he isn't going to make the cut. The only thing that works in his favor is the Hardy suspension. If he can be that 5th end, maybe...

We have 4 guys who can generate a push from DT in Crawford, T. McClain, Hardy and Mincey.

Then you have 4 guys who can generate an edge rush in Hardy, Lawrence, Mincey, and Gregory.

Depth at last. Gotta love it.

Its not just the starters that have me excited we actually have depth as well.
