I like the idea of doing the opposite of what we did last year. Trade down in the 2nd into the early 3rd and get an extra pick to make up for losing 1 last year.
1st- Owa DE UCLA
2nd- *trade down* for 3rd and 4th
Early 3rd- Josh Shaw CB/FS USC
Late 3rd- Mike Davis RB S Carolina
Early 4th- Mitch Morse OL Mizzu
Late 4th- JaCorey Shepherd CB Kansas
5th- Bobby Richardson DT/DE Indiana
7th- Kaelin Clay Return Man Utah
7th- Reshard Cliett LB S Florida
Owa and Richardson add 2 more pass rushers to the d line rotation. Both have very high upsides and are great scheme fits. Owa is the SDE of the future and Richardson looks to be a good rotational 3 tech and is also athletic enough to play some SDE.
Shaw and Shepherd sure up the secondary and add versatility to our sub packages. Shepherd is an underrated outside CB with great ball skills and Shaw is a physical freak who has a bright future at FS.
Davis is a stocky downhill runner who has an impressive burst to get through the hole and beyond. Not easy to bring down either and has good hands. Competes to be lead back right away.
Morse is a versatile and athletic o lineman who has played C, RT, and LT and has been working out as a guard. If it wasn't for his short arms I would say he'd make a very good RT but his good feet make him an ideal zone G. My pet cat o lineman this year.
Clay is a lethal return man who had 4 return tds last year. Would have been 5 if not for dropping 1 before crossing the goal line vs Oregon (yup, he's that guy)
Cliett was a team captain and is 6'2 225 and runs a 40 in the low 4.5's. Developmental LB.
