Round 1-
DJ Fluker, OT/OG Alabama- I'll admit I've never been incredibly high on Fluker until recently revisiting his games. He alone would greatly improve our running game. And his feet for a RT really aren't all that bad, I would go as far to say they are adequate. Yes, hes going to struggle with some of the elite speed rushers in the league, but so do most RT's. I also really like the fact that if he doesn't succeed as a RT theres a pretty good chance hes still better than what we have at guard.
Round 2-
Alex Okafor, DE Texas- High motor, strong, and very well rounded. Okafor may never be the speedy edge rusher that gets 15 sacks in a year, but his power against the run and non stop motor are going to give him a great shot to be a very solid player for a long NFL career. I think he can be a very suitable replacement to Spencer in 2014....actually reminds me a good bit of Justin Tuck if he adds 5-10 more lbs of NFL weight.
Round 3-
Phillip Thomas, FS Fresno State- Ball hawking centerfielder with very good ball skills. Created 20 turnovers in his college career. Not the greatest tackler, nor is he going to make WR's afraid to go over the middle, but his coverage skills will be a huge asset. Probably a day 1 starter at FS for us.
Round 4-
Dallas Thomas, OG Tennessee- Mid-late 2nd round value who falls because of an injury during the Senior Bowl. Former LT who was moved to OG his senior year. As a guard his feet are going to be a plus, has no problem getting to the 2nd level or pulling. Big and strong at 6'5 305 as well. Probably a PUP list guy, but wouldn't surprise me if he was competing for playing time come week 7.
Round 5-
Jawan Jamison, RB Rutgers- The comparison is too obvious, but he really does remind me of Ray Rice. Short and very stocky RB who runs with a low pad level. Very tough to bring down and has surprising change of direction ability. Lack of top end speed may hurt his ability to be a full time starting RB, but should make a very nice secondary back.
Round 6-
Nick Williams, DT Samford- 6'4 310 lbs who ran a sub 5 40 and put up 28 reps. Long armed and well built athlete. Very raw as he only played 1 year of high school football and then only started 2 at Samford. Ton of potential here with his size, strength, and athletic ability though.
