Call me crazy but I have a little faith in Mo.

As for Carr, I want him on the team. That is, I want him on the team as long as there is no one to replace him. ;) I like the player; I hate his salary. If they do draft a CB in the 1st round, I want to see Carr gone. I'll be crossing my fingers on Mo.

You So Crazy Girl. :p

People just talk about Carr...they also have to consider Mo.

As much as Carr cost and whether people thought he sucked or not...at least he was on the field and played better than mo even when mo was on the field.

Think of carr gone and we have Oscan and Mo as the starters....that is scary.

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous to think we'd cut Carr. He's not THAT bad, and with an improved pass rush, he'll be even better.

As for the picks themselves, I can live with Johnson and Yeldon. I think Yeldon will drop to the third and possibly the fourth, but I don't know what teams are looking at or who will be on the board or whether they'll be a run on running backs.
Besides, as someone already pointed out, the Cowboys will be picking lower in the second round so you're basically going to be picking guys with high third-round grades.

I've watched Yeldon play. Aside from the occasional fumbles at inopportune times (that can be fixed) and his penchant for sliding when he should run straight (you can't really coach that out but it may help him more than hurt him overall), I think Yeldon is a very good player. He just has to stay healthy. He's not going to take it to the house for 80 yards, but neither did Emmitt (no, I'm not comparing him with Emmitt. And I think he'll be a pretty good receiving back also.
Personally, if we went CB, RB, DT, RB with the first four picks, I wouldn't be upset.

Bleh.

I still want a DE or LB in the 1st and a RT or DT in the 2nd. Only way I'd be okay with Johnson is if they plan to give Carr the boot. RB in the 3rd.

Drafting a CB to replace Carr would make it easier to re-sign Hardy next year.

I agree. I'm not opposed to a CB but my real hope is that the Cowboys will draft Eddie Goldman in the 1st round. There, I said it and I feel much better. :)

Like Johnson. Not a very big fan of Yeldon's. Think he's more of a fourth rounder.

I'm not a fan of that idea. Goldman is a decent player, but a pure 1tech will be off the field often in the Cowboys scheme. They played in the Nickel 66% of the snaps last season. They would ideally like to use a second 3tech type player in the Nickel.

I might be overly optimistic on this, but I expect Josh Brent to get into shape and be a force on base downs as the 1tech. He is about as strong as any 1tech in a 4-3. I'm also a big fan of Ken Bishop. People lover Gardy Jarrett in this draft, but I see Bishop as being a very similar player. Jarrett is probably a little quicker and Bishop has better base strength. If he can get healthy, T. McClain is the combo 1/3 tech that brings more pass rush while being able to play as a 1tech.

CB on the other had is bare. Scandrick is good, but not really the best match-up against the legion of giant WRs in the league. Carr is drastically overpaid. Corey White might be better than Moore, but he was cut by NO so he can't be that good. Patmon is small and has not played enough to really know how good he is or isn't.

That would be a great start to the draft. Addressing those two positions makes the weekend a whole lot easier/more fun.
