Wow..

That could work.

But I also see the possibility of somebody drops in the 1st Rd and they want to move up to 18-24 picks

We trade and do it.

The picks higher up are sort of middleiin

And we need to win now..

Not 5 years from now with a bunch of picks that will take time to develop.

Additionally..

If we are going to assume we will improve..

That means our #1 next year is going to be worst then 28th this year.

Therefore I think you consider trading it now if needed to get a quality player to help us now.

Others will have other options.

That trade back just isn't ever going to happen. You don't get to move into the first round for less then a very early 4th. If its past about pick 3 its going to have to be a third and a balancer. Trading back to trade back is stupid. Giving up value to trade back is stupid. To make a more reasonable deal you're looking at something like Cleveland coming up for a QB giving up 2/1 and 4/1. That's a mild gain for the Cowboys, probably less then they'd actually want to move out of the first.

Need a better S candidate.
David Jones is a very good safety.

He is ranked lower for 2 reasons. One, he is a small school prospect. Two, he broke his arm his senior year, and thus had only a limited amount of games that season. The guy is big, fast, and has very nice ball skills. To be honest, I would not be shocked if he went as high as the 4th round.

I love your DE's both em but we have Irving and we need safety help. Remember we have Tapper and none of us know what the team thinks of him?
Can you find safety value in the 3rd.

I'd take it. Basham and Kpass are 2-3 round DEs I like a lot.
