The Distribution Center I work at used to be 4 10 hr shifts Mon-Thu, they switched us to Mon-Fri 8 hr shifts almost 4 years ago now and I still get mad about it every once in awhile, always on Fridays for some reason lol.

I might have the opportunity to switch from a 5-day 40-hour work week to a 4-day one. In other words, I currently work 8 hours a day five days a week to get my 40 hours. It would change to 10 hours a day, but just 4 days, the advantage being always having a three-day weekend.

Do you think that would be worth it? It would mean 10-hour days, an extra two hours per day, but then a longer weekend. Has anyone here done that? Did you like it or dislike it?

This is also work from home, so there's no issue of commute time.
I worked a 9/80 schedule for several years (work 80 hours over 9 days or two weeks - basically, got every other Friday off) and loved it... as others have stated, it is really nice having a three day weekend. The downside, is that the company I worked for expected you to be in the office regardless of a weekend or "Friday off" if something "big" was going on. Unfortunately, there was something "big" happening more often than not.

Eventually, I changed my 9/80 schedule such that I took off every Friday at noon... believe me, that felt like a full 3 day weekend. And, since I was the boss, there wasn't anyone else to answer to.
