4 hours, 27 minutes, 18 seconds...

not only is that the start of the draft, but in many ways, it's the close of the worst off season in my NFL career as a fan.

we know all too well how restless we got when we had no real news except wondering about the future. who's right, who's wrong, someone help the little guy.

dez's 'tude and his friends "pants".
later on we see a huge debt. wow. i thought i spent too much on credit as a kid.
new coach.
holy hell, who let ryan in?
romo must go! (my favorite nugget of idiocy)
and of course the endless debates in here about it all and how we've gotten on each others nerves likely more than usual. cause this offseason has just sucked.

the days have turned into hours and the hours will fade here shortly. i'll be on the computer trying to make the simple passage of time sound meaningful. : ) but the draft is almost here and the 1st real sign of normalcy we've had since the year ended.

Up? Down? Take Smith and shut up? In 7 hours, give or take, we'll know who's happy and who's made and who will be the 1st to change their login name.

buit more importantly we'll see what the front office views as the best move we could make at the time. the direction they want to go. that alone is something more than we've had in quite some time.

gonna order some papa johns and pepsi tonight and finally get back to something i know i love about the game.

Man yesterday and today is when it really started to get to me.

The excitement of the draft, the bundle of nerves. Trying to do anything to pass time.
Getting into arguments and so on.

But it is now just a few hours away.

Will we be happy and jumping up and down for a great pick or possibly two picks?
Will we be just OK with a solid pick.
Will we be upset because we gave up too much to move up or too little to move down.
Will we be upset if we move down and not get the players we wanted.

So much to think about and I just hope for a good to great draft. I could deal with a solid meat and potatoes draft and walk away happy. I just don't want any screw ups or a draft where you can tell they tried to be a little too cute and paid for it.

i'm hoping jones' experience, time w/parcells and then the staff he has now will limit the need for "cuteness" but yea, no need to reach. no need to go crazy. stay solid, calculate the risk, and let's walk away in a few months when this draft is over with a good crew. : )
