1) LB Sonny Styles, OSU
  • Rangy, talented, versatile LB. Need this guy
Trade down to early 2 for extra 3rd

2) S Dillon Thieneman, Oregon
  • Athletic, smart, instinctual
  • Need to upgrade Safety immediately. Currently have the worst safety room in the nfl
3) DE Joshua Josephs, Tennessee
  • Explosive and Athletic with potential
  • Can rush passer and play run, just raw
  • Not sure if he’ll last to 3rd
4) TE Michael Rigg, Baylor
  • Fast, explosive receiver
  • Need to find a true dynamic tight end threat. Ferg is solid but nothing special
Don’t love trades in mocks, but I think this could realistically happen.

I like it but not excited about drafting a TE. I am also wondering about what people thing about the S from Toledo.

If you mean third round we traded that to Steelers

Consensus big board now has him safety 3. Still early though.

I am thinking tackle somewhere in the 1st three rounds (if we move a pick).

Steele has got to go. He sucks.
Im not convinced we cant get a Capable starter in 5th round. Even if we move a pick we have bigger needs. Weve produced one of the best offenses with group we have now, far from it on Defense.

Don't read that as im happy or complacent with Steele, im not. Maybe we find replacement via FA this year. I just think Defense and speed on Defense is a must.

What we need is 2 good players with those 1st rounders, if we can get them. Last night highlighted that we need more than just a couple of defenders. We have some issues on offense.

The other issue with Steele is that for the level of play we are getting out of him, his cap hit is an anchor on this team.

Agreed. And I think they will look to cut that. Just think we have too many other needs on Defense is all.

Though I could be persuaded to take Love.

A trade down is going to be hard to find... I like all the players but like you said Josephs probably goes before this, Trigg might go higher than this also. Trigg is a little small for what this team would look for in a TE. 6'4 240 is small and they have Leupke, Fairweather and Fant on their roster, as smaller H-back/FB type players. A larger in-line TE that has some semblance of speed, would be ideal.

TE is not a place to waste a pick this year

Safety is first priority after LB

BUT we must be significant players in FA this offseason.

We need at least one competent Tackle

Two LBs and 2 safeties

either we bring back Clowney or we have to get another DE

I am willing to give Guyton one more chance but Steele HAS TO GO

and we need to upgrade RB as well

Don't we have a couple backup tackles on the roster ? Last year we grabbed the RT from Oregon. And we have a couple others. Need to know what we have cause Steele gotta be a June 1st. Cut.
This is the first year we can let him go. Without a massive hit.
