i was nine. but all of the games that i have watched of staubach on youtube he was so far the best qb the cowboys ever had. the cowboys would have made the superbowl if he would have played against the eagles and niners back to back years that white lost. even though i think that both games the defense were the main reason why the cowboys lost those games but maybe staubach would have made a few more plays to win both games.

March 31st: On this day in 1980, after 11 seasons with the Cowboys, Roger Staubach announced his retirement at a Texas Stadium press conference. Roger Staubach, with his wife Marianne at his side, choked up when speaking of Coach Landry.

I was 10....didn't understand the ramifications....until the season started...then was crushed.
