No, realism and a dream need to be taken into account together and not independently.

You want to work in televsion or movies for instance, you don't say "I'm gonna earn a million dollars right out the gate." that is not realistic, perhaps one day but gradually.

With a sport such as football you have to acknowledge that your body has aged and cannot take the punishment and abuse of the sport after a long period of time, he frankly should've started sooner if this was his goal, he's old enough to run for President however so given the current crop he might as well.
