I was camping with my folks at Rondeau Provincial Park when the news of his death was announced. Another great musicians life cut way, way to short...

I remember that day well. It was my first day of being a high school sophomore. It was so surreal. It seemed everybody loved Elvis and so many were devastated. My mom loved Elvis and had seen him in concert in his early days. She cried like she lost a family member.

Was watching that Johnny Cash bio movie Walk the Line the other day and got a kick out of the Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis scenes. "Johnny, Johnny, damn that Elvis sure loves himself some poon, that's all he talked about the entire drive here!"

Guitarist Robby Krieger asked about what got him playing guitar. Talks Elvis & Scotty Moore, plays Don't Be Cruel riff.

thats the way it is.
some of his greatest performances were the august shows filmed in vegas for the film.
this was always a show-stopper and fan favorite.

beautiful cover.
