Let me start by saying that going to my first Cowboys game that I am still on cloud 9. I arrived at the game about 10 and met up for a few moments with fellow Cowboy Zoners BigDfan5 and DJ Doug. Thanks to those two for swinging by to say hello to an out of state fan.
It started for me on Saturday night with at the team hotel. We made the drive over to the team hotel. There were a few players that didn't come to the fence and sign anything. But most stayed out for a few minutes for the crowd that was there. Witten arrived and signed for a couple of minutes and then said he'd be back after he checked in, true to his word he came back and signed for about 10 more minutes. As I stated the other day, for as much grief as Crayton gets on boards, he was out there for a good 20 minutes or more signing. Also signing for the fans were Gurode, Procter, Thomas, RW#11, Ratliff, Bradie James, and a few others. DWare was there before I arrived so I missed him. Also TNew was there, but was leaving just I arrived there.
The game was an awesome experience, even though I was way up in the rafters(almost). I hadn't been to any NFL games since my youth(though its a technicality as I saw the Bungles play). I definitely got a different perspective seeing the plays open up in the stadium than on television. I do have some photos that I'm working on getting moved over to photobucket, but I've had a busy couple of days so I haven't really had the time so it will probably have to wait until I get back to Dayton.
I took the stadium tour early Monday morning which was cool. Though I hated that the crowd was so big. They were already starting to set up the stage and set for Thanksgiving, so the field was not completely accessible. Also Everson Walls was by the pro shop signing pictures and taking pictures with fans.
Finally today, its been a relaxing day. I did however go to Randy White's BBQ in Frisco. The food was extremely good. Fortunately, just as I was about to leave the Manster was about to arrive so we got a heads up from our waitress. I had the football in the trunk from the team hotel and he graciously agreed to sign my football and take a photo. Great guy!! I would have liked to have talked with for a few more minutes, but he was meeting some folks for a business meeting.
I am definitely going to miss the weather. Big difference between near 70 degree weather and the 30 degrees and snow flurries that I'm going to be headed back to on the drive tomorrow.
