49ers’ Crabtree Tests Foot
Posted by Sheil Kapadia on June 7, 2009, 2:45 p.m.
San Francisco 49ers rookie Michael Crabtree took another step in his recovery, running hard for the first time today since having foot surgery in March.
According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, Crabtree ran about a dozen 40-yard sprints at three-quarters speed. Matt Maiocco of the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat noted that Crabtree was taking slow and steady strides while five members of the 49ers’ staff closely monitored his movements.
Crabtree isn’t expected to start practicing fully with the team until training camp starts.
The 49ers have signed four of their draft picks. Crabtree told Barrows last week that he’s just being patient in terms of getting a deal done.
“I’m just waiting on whatever, man,” he said. “Right now, I don’t really have anything to say about doing that. As long as it gets done and I’m ready for training camp …”
Crabtree is represented by Eugene Parker.
