you can't just randomly interview coaches under contract with other teams.

Teams have to request to interview coaches under contract, but it's almost always granted. Blocking a guy from interviewing isn't going to help your relationship with him.

By NFL rule Yes you can, as long as it’s a clear promotion. The reason you hear about requests for interviews is because those teams are still playing, and it’s to fit the interview into their gameplanning schedule. But they are not allowed to deny it

true but no way a team would grant permission for the opponent in the next game to interview (and not like we have an opening for HC now anyway)
