Simple defense too, according to Mike Evans.Good thing we have a simple offense.
That’s a different point. But teams with an opening don’t need to request permission and an interview cannot be blocked. That was my point.there has to be an opening to interview for, we have none so the original comment was moot
If the cowboys were smart they would interview him. Spend 72 hours with him
If you want to interview a coach who is under contract with a team that won its wild-card-weekend game (i.e. is still alive), you need the team's permission.
That is incorrect, though. This is from the NFL's own website:That’s a different point. But teams with an opening don’t need to request permission and an interview cannot be blocked. That was my point.
Some folks seem concerned about Dan Quinn's job interview on Friday, yet it's nothing out of the norm.

Russell Wilson was Denvers main issue all year. That with terrible playcalling. This reminds me...
To Troy Aikman's comment Monday night, something along the lines of "Cowboys fans, don't expect Dan Quinn to be coming back."
First of all, do we remember how Quinn head coached when in Atlanta? Super Bowl collapse anyone?
Secondly, um, you think the personnel (i.e. Parsons) has a lot to do with Quinn's success?
Finally, not sure why Denver would be interested in Quinn. Their problem is not defense...it's offense.
I believe if you have a HC opening, and you are interviewing for that position, team don't block. I believe they can block for all other lateral moves including BS Asst HC position. That is incorrect, though. This is from the NFL's own website:
"The NFL has granted clubs permission to conduct virtual interviews this week with candidates who are still in the playoffs, provided the employing club consents."
I would block it if I were the GM/owner if my team is still currently in the playoffs fighting for the super bowl.Teams have to request to interview coaches under contract, but it's almost always granted. Blocking a guy from interviewing isn't going to help your relationship with him.
Nahhhhhhhhh, they would never ever do that.I hope these teams are legit interested and not doing it just because they have to, or it checks a box.
