This is similar to the way we built our OL.........
Either way, if FO/Mike focus, no reason we can't have a similar DL within the next two drafts. Notice I said similar coz at least a couple of their picks were top 5.

Can the Chiefs' OL slow a relentless 49ers pass rush?

AVENTURA, Fla. -- Like relentless waves crashing against the shoreline, the San Francisco 49ers' pass rush grinds down opponents, hurtles past blockers, and demolishes quarterbacks.

Boasting five former first-round picks in Nick Bosa, Dee Ford, DeForest Buckner, Arik Armstead and Solomon Thomas, the Niners' defensive front creates havoc few can repel. The 49ers generated nine postseason sacks in two games, with eight of those nine coming from former first-rounders.

The vast array of ways San Francisco can pressure the quarterbacks makes the matchup between the pass rush and the stout Kansas City Chiefs offensive line a key to Super Bowl LIV

Man be careful on looking at what other teams do in order to get to the Super Bowl. Every team does something different.

Oh I agree 100% .......hell couple years the Eagles were it. But my thoughts are we have to get more serious about investing in the DL. Remember a few years ago Stephen/Marinelli would bring several bottom feeders and expect them to either start or play at a high level? That's what I'm talking about........

Copycat league. Probably a big run on DL in the draft. One constant, the game is won in the trenches.

we got the the best offense in the NFL & we didn't even make the playoffs .

we should have invested in DL instead of OL . huge mistake .
Oh brother. You serious with this?

Everyone knows last year was on the coaching staff. Remember that stat about the Cowboys offense having the worst starting field position in the league?

yes when you suk hard for 4 straight years ie double digit looses and get gifted top 5 picks year in and year out this can happen..some luck involve di mean JG blows a knee and they get Bosa..if that had not happened they would not have him..

we havent had back to back bad years let alone a season to get into the top 5 IE ONE in 10years..i guess we need to suk harder to speed this up LOL

like you said we concentrate on a few positions at a time and now the DL and S need addressing..

I agree there. It’s hard to argue against it this offseason. Preferably I’d like that 1st round pick to be a lineman and bring back Quinn. That’s a start anyway.

As I told a friend of mine who is diehard Niners fan, and I hope the Niners would be good since they have been picking in the top 10 or 5 for a decade now. The Niners are bound to hit on some of them.

DeForest Buckner 2016 7th Overall Pick
Solomon Thomas 2017 3rd Overall Pick
Nick Bosa 2019 2nd Overall Pick

When you suck that bad you have the picks high enough to draft the top DL in the draft. Cowboys were picking later in the draft and built their OL instead. Cowboys would have drafted Aaron Donald had they sucked more that year.

A different coaching staff and especially the HC would have made a huge difference all these year too. :D

That's nice. Like the Rams/Pats/Egals, they won't be back to the Superbowl next season.

And those were high first rounders after years of 5-11 seasons.

Want to do that?

Agree, but building up the trenches first and foremost almost always payed dividends. We’ve neglected doing that on the defensive side of the ball and have gotten pushed around for decades

I’ve always admired the way Seattle built that Defense through draft and free agency while taking advantage of Wilson still in his rookie contract and got the Lombardi........of course now that they paidWilson that contract they couldn’t pay the D to stay together

It’s timing and a lot of luck involved
