I do *not* see evidence the 49ers are overpowering in the trenches.

Rather they have bigger receivers who are willing and able blockers, a good blocking tight end and a great blocking full back. Everybody is involved in blocking and they don't have lame blockers at skilled positions.

That, and they deceive the heck out of teams with well-conceived and well-timed subterfuge.

The key to stopping SF will be playing smart, schematically sound, and get our DBs to play stout in run defense.

That's one of Dallas' biggest problems skill positions can't block. Especially Shultz.

I don't see why they just don't tell Shultz to pin a defender instead of trying to over power him. He can't push anyone back so just pin him to the inside or outside to give the RB a running lane. Like Hodges used to say...A seal here, a seal there, running lane for the running back.

Right. And wasn’t Shultz known as just a blocker at one time? I remember him saying sarcastically after a TD “all I can do is block”

It might be a pretty important game for the Dallas safeties and for the cornerbacks to stay with their man...

Yep. The draft analysis was his strength was blocking and receiving skills sub-par. There were arguments that he had limited receiving skills because Stanford didn’t feature that or give him the opportunities. The NFL doesn’t financially reward blocking TEs so it’s no surprise that’s where his efforts to improve or prove himself lie.

They have plenty to push us around just like the lowly Philthy birds did last Sunday. Our wussies make lots of business decisions as players try to tackle high around the shoulder pads instead of getting low and taking out legs. We'll be chasing their guys all day like the last time we played them.

Run D is all about technique, grit, and “want to”. I trust DQ to have his crew fired up to lay their bodies on the line to stop the run.

No, it’s not an overpowering OL. These zone scheme run games are never about power. Mike Shanahan and now Kyle Shanahan have been dominating the nfl on the ground for decades using the same system.

I mean this is largely semantics. They are a very good OL that is very good at what they do - run block.

It’s going to be an issue for Dallas who isn’t great at stopping the run. Will be interesting to see how Quinn tries to slow them down.

Yes and to compound the issue the Cowboys is a fast defense and the Niners favor the cutback run within their zone scheme. The cutback run is a fast defense’s kryptonite.

Translation: "I'm scared and worried".

we know your not, for fans like you. You can sit there and rag on the team and if you are wrong and Dallas wins you sit there and say Oh I will gladly eat crow. Pathetic, can't even back supposedly your own team and slam anyone who does.

Imagine Cowboy fans at a Cowboys site cheering on their team, who ever heard of such a thing. Some of you are no different than opposing fans coming here to troll

Why would I be scared?

If we can't beat this team then we're pretenders anyways.

How much did you put on the Cowboys to win?

I don't bet period. No you sit here and mock anyone who does pull for the team. You have no concerns if they win you will just Oh I will eat crow, hope you choke on it.
Who did I mock?

When I see threads like this it just screams "I'm scared of the 49ers". You defend it because you're scared too. You have zero confidence in the Cowboys.

anytime some one says something positive you start up with Translations "I'm scared and worried" Give it a rest, if you can't support the team why the hell are you even here?

I said from the moment this matchup was announced that I like our chances better in this one then against almost any other match up because this will be the one of the few possible matchups that we'll clearly have the better QB. When my team has the better QB then I like my teams chances.

Ya'll are scared to death because there might not be a game next week. It's put up or shut up time. This is why the season is played. There's no need to be scared of the 49ers if we're as great as you've been telling us we are all year.
