Report: 49ers emerge in the race for Peyton Manning

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, a third team has emerged in the Manning race and that is the San Francisco 49ers. Manning worked out for Jim Harbaugh and took physical this week.

I'm pretty sure I posted this in the where is Manning going thread. This is a no brainer for the 49ers. The just before half drive in the Giants game told me exactly how much confidence the SF staff has in Smith.

This is definately the best fit for him. With Davis at TE and then Moss and Tree to throw to outside, with that run game and that defense...that's a very tough team to beat.

According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, a third team has emerged in the Manning race and that is the San Francisco 49ers. Manning worked out for Jim Harbaugh and took physical this week.

Working out Manning is kind of an all-or-nothing move for the 49ers.

Talk about messing with Alex Smith's mind. Whatever boost his ego got by being coddled all season long has got to be seriously diminished after that horrible NFC Championship game.

Now it's gotta be fragile as glass.

If Manning goes there and can play for a couple of years, this will be a nightmare for everyone in the NFC.

Why Manning has not been this great playoff QB how many times did his teams come up short. Hell he threw the key pick in the SB to NO to seal the deal.
I also think his game is going to take a lit bit of a hit in performance
