Well who do we root for now? Do we want to see our division rivals do well? I do like it when we are referred to as the "Beasts of the East". Only washington and philly have a chance to carry on that legacy. And let's be honest, it won't be washington.
I’ll root for AFC over SF or Egirls in SB.

Dallas has a good chance of finishing ahead of Washington.
Boy, have you lowered your standards since the 49ers destroyed us. Lol Just a few days ago you were telling me this is was the best Cowboys team in 30 years and to enjoy the ride. You kept saying this team was special. I’m sure you’re not feeling very good about your 13-4 prediction. Lol You need to start listening to me.

What if the 49ers don't win the championship? 28 years and counting.
Well, at least they’ve been to a couple of Super Bowls since then, and have appeared in several conference title games. They’ve had a lot more success over that period than the Cowboys. They’ve been knocking on the door and we can’t even reach the door. If their current team keeps playing the way they are they will win the Super Bowl and it won’t even be a close game. They have one of the best teams I’ve seen in years. They are what some of you thought the Cowboys were after the first two games.

Yes, and it won’t be easy for them to maintain their level of play the entire season, but if they do this is going to be their year.

The 49ers definitely look like an old school darn GOOD football team. They will beat everybody unless they just have a down game. Cowboys front office is too stupid to build a team like that. Too much "we like our guys" stuff still going on.

Back in the 90s. Not sure they’re as good as those teams but if they continue playing like they have this season, especially on Sunday night they may not lose a game.
Good for them, The NFL also does not have a lot of really good teams.

The biggest difference between the Niners and Dallas is they have an offensive coordinator who has a polished scheme and knows how to attack an opponent's weaknesses.

Dallas did nothing to attack the weak spots of the Niners' defense other than the corner route to Turpin and the missed opportunity to Cooks. Meanwhile, the Niners exposed Bell's inexperience at LB, went after Gilmore who clearly has lost his burst, and used traps and draws to gash Dallas in the running game because our dline was running stunts and rushing up the field too aggressively at times.

Despite the 42 points, it was a 7-0 game with the offense going 3 and 0 and having a fumble on their first 4 possessions.

They were throwing the ball at the intermediate level pretty consistently I think were the ones who are the dink and dunkers lol
Collinsworth cited numerous times during the game that Purdy and the 9ers prefer to push the ball down the field if it's available. Think we obliged nicely to their wishes.

The dink and dink perception of Purdy is linked to his unimposing stature, supposed lack of arm talent, and wrapped in bow with the fact the Mr. Irrelevant shouldn't be capable of doing anything other than dinking and dunking. After all, all the scouts couldn't have missed on this guy, could they?

I wonder if the 9ers fans on their chat forums are over the elation of the big win and are now saying, "Hey, maybe this wasn't a big win, the Cowboys just might really stink?" After all, I think we're pondering that point.

you would think the team meeting would be held and big Mike( and even Jerry) will say to the bunch that they need to aspire to be like that team that beat our sorry ***** and if they think they are champions "ya gotta walk the talk etc etc.".......best hope now is a wild card and even that is a stretch with all the other up and coming teams in the other divisions
But refuse to make the moves to make it so.
Think about this:

SF has the #1 ranked running game in the NFL and the 8th ranked OL.
SF has the #2 ranked DLine in the NFL.

This is why they dominated us. It wasn't effort and will or anything silly like that, it all comes down to talent.

Free agency and the salary cap has created a lot of balance in the league. It’s difficult to build a dominate team, but the 49ers currently have one.

Dink and dunk is so underrated as an O plan. It pulls the DB's up and allows you to go deep. The best QB's in NFL history, Brady and Montana, used dink and dunk prodigiously. Best O plan there is.

Correct.

However, you are missing the fact that they are in super bowl contention and have been several times in those 28 years. Even lost one. We have not been in contention since 96.

All I know is that I’m tired of getting punked by these fools.

Watching Emmitt on the build up before the game…..man Emmitt wasn’t going to let anybody punk him out there like this.

That team in the 90’s went into Candlestick and everybody knew who the bullies were. It’s a damn shame what’s happened to this franchise.

Troy, Micheal, Emmitt, Moose, Leon, Nate, Ken…..

Those dudes were dawgs.

This team now……

We are exactly who we want to be. We are exactly the same thing we have been for ages. We are a thin team with numerous over priced "stars" that sell jerseys and get hype but never deliver. We are soft and weak. We care about image and branding. We care about empty stats. We believe D Flaw is a great player worthy of a large portion of salary cap. We believe Diggs is worth breaking the bank. We believe Tyron Smith is a hall of famer who should play forever. We believe Dak Prescott is a high end pocket passer capable of commanding the offense.

We are the same team that believed Randy Gregory was on the verge of a break out season. The same team that believed Jaylon Smith was a top shelf MLB. The same team that believe Tyrone Crawford was a top shelf defensing lineman. The same team that believed Zeke should be paid early and given the largest RB contract ever. The same team that trades first round picks for WRs. The same team that gave Lael Collins guaranteed money. The list goes on and on and on forever. Some teams care about football and a winning culture. We care about perceived value and maintaining perceived relevance.

Football has changed a lot over the years but some things remained unchanged. Big strong men dedicated to winning will defeat smaller weaker men dedicated to self promotion and contract maximization.
Wow.
An all time classic and HOF level post.
Much respect to you on this.

I'm not missing the fact and the Cowboys were in contention last year. You can't say a 13 win team that won a playoff game on the road and lost to the 49ers by 1 score wasn't in contention.

Not today, but it is a long season. Do you think the 49ers were close to the Eagles last year when they ran out of qbs?
Yes, they are better than the Eagles but you need a QB, which we obviously don't have. So there's nothing you can tell me that will convince me we can compete with the 49ers if we had to play them again. I've seen 3 samples of the current QB crapping himself against that team. So unless the 49ers totally implode, lose their QB, etc. the Cowboys have no shot.
