4th & 2 - Anything Else Open?

Right decision by Romo. Terrible formation that I've never liked.

Sure it works some times. But why telegraph that you're passing (especially on a 3rd and short) clog up your passing lanes and give the defense an easy opportunity to overload your OL?

And if you're going to do that, why not have 5 actual wider receivers instead of Dunbar? I'd rather sneak Dunbar out of the backfield if I'm going to make him a receiver.

That said, Romo knew right off the bat that he had Dez 1 on 1, you don't know which guys are going to drop back into coverage into that window where Beasley is. Give the big fella a shot. He has made it happen before (Houston)

There were perhaps four times this game where HaHa Clinton-Dix was not shaded over the top of the coverage on Dez Bryant. This was one of those times. Romo threw the ball to his most talented playmaker. I have no complaints about the play call or decision. Anytime you can get Dez Bryant 1 on 1 with an opposing corner, you have to take a shot. They converted the play and the catch. The referees, though, didn't agree.

Great Call
Great Throw
Great Catch

I LOVE us being brave and going for it with absolutely no fear..It builds swag and teams develop that fear factor knowing that Dallas will go for it and convert

Let me say this first. I've already proclaimed to not be a Romo basher anymore, and I'm sticking to that. I will just comment on the decision.

When your entire season is on the line, you miss and you go home, I'd throw it to stone Cole there. All I need is a 1st down, I don't need anything else right now.
Another reason is, that is a low percentage play. When Dez was in the Air as he caught the ball, the corner nearly tips it out of Dez's hands but Dez pulls it away from the corner. It's just too risky when it's all or go home 4th down play. You risk your entire season on that type of decision and you simply go home, and that's where we are.

Like the old tale goes, two wolves at the top of a hill, one wolf says, "let's run down there and do a sheep" the older wolf says "let's walk down, do them all".
Take your time man, there's no reason to rush this thing with the time we had on the clock. Just move down the field, take time off the clock, and if you have an opportunity to gt the TD with Dez on a 2nd down play or 3rd down, heck , even a 4th and long play I would understand but trying to be greedy, second time in the game, then it's a 50/50 play and we lost.
